They were making me believe that the 4Runner that I was going to buy from them was certfied and that it went through 160 point inspection. Upon looking at it and test driving the car, I found out that some dashboard lights were not working, a broken rear seat latch, dented front and rear bumpers and wierd spot on the hood which you can not take out even after they detailed it.
After asking him how is it possible that this passed the cerfication with all these things that are wrong with the car and he said that they just overlooked it and that they will fix most of the stuff that I had issues with. I asked him for some paper work on the 160 point inspection that was made and see if they checked off things that I had issues with and he said that you will get that in the mail after you purchase the vehicle.
Well this worried me and I called the main Toyota Customer care and they told me that stay away from buying that car because the way you are describing the car is not certified at all. I put the complaint in and went to another dealership.
I ended up going about 30 miles away to TOYOTA CITY and got myself a real certified 4Runner with all the certified paper work and warranty. They even put new brakes, air filter, 4 new tires etc just to pass the certification.
Just beware that just because its a used Certified Toyota Dealership it does not mean that all of their cars are certified and they might sell it as it is certified.
