BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 went on sale today

I purchased 4 LT265/70R17 (stock) BFG All Terrains and the front driver side rubs on the inside when i am at full right turn.

Any one else have this issue? Is the resolution to trim the front wheel well plastic?

Why are so many people going with LT tires instead of P on a mid size SUV? The LT's are heavier and ride like crap don't they? Is this for puncture protection only?

Philosophic discussions aside, they don't make them in P-metric.

P-Metric's with a ~5,000 pound vehicle can leave something to be desired WRT handling and sidewall 'give'. Granted the stocker's weren't really a fair comparison to a $1000 set of BFG tires, but no way could I live with my T4R's handling with the stock P-Metric tires. I'm also of the opinion that E load range is too far the other direction. LT/C load range is "Just Right" for me and my truck.

I personally prefer the ride of LT C's over the stock P's by a large margin (not just handling, but the ride as well)...

I agree.

The P series tires just sqirm too much for me especially towing a trailer. I can handle the stiff ride of an LT E but I don't want the negative effects of the extra weight, not yet anyway. I'm going to eventually add full skids and possibly front and rear bumpers with a winch. At that point I plan to make the jump to LT E tires.

I sure wish BFG made a 275/70/17 or 255/80/17 KO2 in a LT C.

Not arguing with anyone's desire to run an LT -- I run them myself -- but comparing an LT-A/T to the stock tires isn't a very useful comparison.

A better comparison would be a P-metric A/T with a few extra pounds of pressure.

Much smaller difference in feel in a case like that -- especially compared to Load C.

Quite possibly so, but I wasn't about to experiment with a bunch of different brands and styles of unfamiliar P-Metrics to find something I liked after knowing what to expect (handling/ride/MPG/Tread life/Road noise/etc.) from 6 full sets of the KO LT C-Loads across my last 2 Toyota 4x4's (5th Gen makes my 3rd Yota 4x4 and like 7 sets of BFG's!).

As an additional data point, I was the guy that accidentally had the "E" Load range tires installed when I ordered the C's (was replacing my worn out KO/C's with identical KO/C's, but the shop installed E's by accident and I could tell something was "off" without knowing what had happened). I could tell a difference in handling and acceleration (for the worse). It was literally a bind test (and a "blind detection" if you will) as I initially had no idea the shop installed the wrong tires until the feedback of driving my truck told me something had changed.

Funny thing is I thought the high-speed handling and inertia of the heavier "E"'s was a detriment to handling. I figured it would be "Tighter" with a 10-ply sidewall, but the extra weight was more of a hindrance than a benefit over the C-Loads I was intimately familiar with at highway speeds. It was like my steering movements (lane changes) were amplified by the inertia of the heavier "E" tire (like holding a spinning bicycle wheel in your hands and changing the orientation).

The extra weight of the KO E's over the KO C's was also bad for acceleration and braking beyond the handling detriments I observed, so I'd say only go for "E"'s if you absolutely know you need a 10-Ply sidewall bar none. That unfortunately leaves the 275/70/R17/E's off my short list (would gladly take a 275/70/R17 in C load)...

But you are correct: KO C's compared to the Stock P-Metrics is just not a fair comparison. The difference in handling alone is very appreciable with minimal additional road noise and MPG detriments.

Does anyone out there have a set of these? Buying tires this week. Love the KO's but curious about these. Any reviews would help.

Plenty of users have already given their opinion in this thread. Might be worthwhile to read them...

Is anyone considering the 34x10.5r17 load range D? Seems like a viable option but no one ever talks about it. Does anyone one see any huge negatives over the stock size AT/KOs LRC I'm using now? Thanks!

Btw, 4.56 might be in my future.

For those that ordered early or on release of KO2 E

... the C is due to be released on March 1st. What are the odds I can get my hands on them by March 11th?

Yes, I get that this is probably asking for pure speculation, but maybe the timeliness of the E load range would be indicative of the C release and distribution.

Waiting for the release as well to pull the trigger on 5) LT265/70R17C

These Bridgestones have to go! :rip:

I searched, so no flame please.., I would like to know if a list has been circulated as to a 275 being available in a C or even a D load range for my stock 17's. Thanks.

Shopping for tires and just took a gander at these at discount and they look great in person, still torn if i am gonna pull the trigger on the k02's or some KM2's.....
