BFG KO2 34x10.5x17 Wheel Fitment

Considering picking up a set of BFG's in this size, and changing out wheels at the same time. I've looked at 1Engineer's tire guide, and while this exact size is not referenced, tires close in overall dimensions to this show wheels in 7.0"-9.0" to be acceptable.

My question is, what are the pros & cons of a 7", 8.5", a 9" wheel on a 10.5" tire? I've got a wheel in each width that I'm considering.

I've spent more time than I want to admit researching this and deliberating, so I'm posting here for some guidance.

If you go to the BF Goodrich site and cross reference the size chart for this tire, the recommended wheel width range is 7" to 9". So any of the wheels you have are recommended. Beyond that, you should consider the backspacing of the wheels to help minimize/eliminate the dreaded rubbing issues.

I'm currently running these on stock SR5 rims (7 inch). I'm assuming you've already lifted your truck? I'm running a 3 inch lift, and I only rubbed on the front fender liner in full lock reverse with caster set to around 2.5 (I'm running stock UCAs so getting a whole lot more than that isn't possible). Remember that these tires run small. Their flotation sized 34 is still only a 33.5 and it's a bit smaller once mounted. I'd say it's a 10.5 inch 33.2...

Otherwise, it's a great tire. Love the aggressive look and they perform well off-road in the sand and rocks. Don't have much sticky mud here in AZ so I can't say how well they perform in that.

Have Icon Stage 2 with tubular UCA that will be installed before new wheels/tires go on. Actually, it's your rig that got me thinking about the 34 x10.50's. Really like the look! How's the ride with Load Range D, and what PSI are you running?

Thanks man! As far as the tire pressure, I run 44 up front and 42 in the back. Between the suspension and the tires, the ride is definitely firmer than stock. I no longer feel like I'm driving a lifted Lincoln Continental... Like others have said, it drives more like a truck now and that's fine by me.

You will loose approximately 1 mpg with these tires though. These tires are, obviously, much heavier than stock. Strangely though, my speedo didn't change very much. Maybe off by 1 to 2 percent tops.

Thanks for the info. and heads up on the mileage. I've got 265 BFG AT's in Load Range C now which are a bit heavier than the stockers, so figuring another ~0.5 mi/gal. reduction going to 34x10.50's in D. Thankfully the company covers fuel so that's not as much of a concern as clients being able to get in and out (AMP Powersteps are on the list), and making sure it still has a decent ride, for a truck anyway. It's a balancing act.
