BFG KO2 balancing problems

After much (negative) experience with BFG KO AT tires, I gave up and switched to Cooper. The BFG tread is sexy, but they’ve never been able to address their quality problems (guess they didn’t need to as people still bought them?). Also they offer no tread wear warranty.

I put a set on my 2004 Jeep TJ and had no problems with balancing, Jeep was smooth, I sold the Jeep with some 10,000 on these tires and all was good at the time. Don't know of a quality problem with these tires, but on the Jeep Forum these are very popular tires.

I used to run KO2s on my truck and had constant issues with balancing and vibrations that were pretty annoying. I decided to switch to Cooper Discoverer STT Pros, and honestly, it's been a night and day difference. No more vibration problems, and they seem to hold up better in terms of durability. I also like the added peace of mind with their tread wear warranty. Haven’t had any regrets with the switch, but I do miss the look of the KO2s' tread pattern!

I've also had a positive experience with the BFG KO2 - my car has had no balance issues either.

IÂ’ve been debating between sticking with KO2s or trying something new. The balancing issue has been a pain for me too. Do you notice any difference in road noise or fuel economy with the STT Pros?

I didn't have any issues with mine, but I saw that BFG supposedly improved the manufacturing process with K03's which will hopefully minimize the balancing issues some people are experiencing.

Totally understand not wanting to deal with real AT issues if your use case allows less aggressive, less durable tires. But if your plan to use it offroad that just isn't an option and the KO2's are an awesome choice. Mine have been deal steady no vibe or rebalance since installed 25k ago, just rotations every 5k.

I’ve had BFG KO3’s for a little over a year now and they have been great. No balance, mud, snow, sand, noise issues.
