details: 265/70/17 bfg ko2 less than 1 year old. Rotation done every oil change.
Just last week I had discount tire rotate my wheels since I was feeling a slight vibration. After the rotation my steering wheel was rocking left to right specially around 55-65mph with the vibration still being there. The steering wheel with shake even with both my hands on it and enough to worry if this was safe. I then took it back and they rebalanced the wheels again and this did not fix the problem. For the 3rd time I took the vehicle back and they replaced the 2 rear tires and guaranteed they have fixed the problem stating they saw something abnormal with the 2 rear tires. I was hesitant and asked the manager to take a ride with me and just as I suspected the problem still exist!
I went back the 4th time and suggested we try to bring the front wheels back to the rear where it was before coming in the 1st time. Doing this got rid of the steering wheel shake but the vibration from before was still there. They then suggested I leave my car this way!
I don't understand the logic! to me we pinpointed the problem was with the 2 front tires. Their solution was to bring all the wheels back to where I had it before.
doesn't that mean I would have to drive another cycle without rotating? can someone shed light to this.
I even went to the trouble in my 4th return of switching out my konig counter steer wheels to oem trail wheels to see if they were the wheels. By the way, discount tire stated they did not have issues balancing my wheels and stated that the issue was not my wheels.
