I had them on my 2nd gen for about 8 months before I sold it. They did fine in the rain, no real complaints there. I never had them in the snow, but they did great in the mud/wheeling.
I went to Big O adn they are a bunch of flipping lyres. They quoted me $860.00 on the phone. I get there and it is almost $1200 bucks. I ask the guy why. He say he doesn't know but he remembered hearing the other guy on the phone tell me $860.00.
Turns out on the web page they show it as an LT tire, which is what I asked for. He quoted me the price for a B rated tire (same version). I pull a camper and I don't want a B rated tire, but even then the numbers are still almost $100 off. He just pulled a price out of his ***. Then they tried to sell me on another tire that was still more expensive than the quoted price..
I went to Wal-Mart to see what they had, I won't buy a tire from Wal-Mart but I could get a print out of the price. I then went to t the Toyota dealership and they matched the Wal-Mart price without haggling and they will change out the O-rings in the pressure sensor system (48 cents worth of parts but the tire has to be off the rim to do it) and wash the 4Runner for no extra charge.
They had a passenger tire:
Geolandar H/T-S G051.
It is a passenger tire with a highway tread but it does have a weight rating sufficient for my towing. I prefer a passenger tire adn high tread for my 4Runner but wasn't having any luck finding one in my area that would work. My options are Wal-Mart, the farm store, and Big O. I had never considered going to a dealership because I figured they would be over priced, but they weren't.
