Greetings,
I've got a big stockpile of maintenance parts waiting to be installed. Lately, it's just been a domino of maintenance. I'm hoping I can tackle a few big projects in the next week or two of time. Not my DD, so I'm planning on taking my time.
Priorit number one is valve cover gaskets.
I'm doing valve cover gaskets and would like to properly clean/prep/paint the intake plenum a and valve covers while they're out. I figure all my gaskets and parts will arrive by Friday. What should I be weary of by removing valve covers for a week? Obviously I'm going to tape everything up and cover open stuff, but anything I should be cautious about?
Anybody have recommendations on paint for the covers and plenums? I've seen lots of options out there, I think duplicator engine enamel would be a good choice, after a thorough cleaning and some self etching primer.
I figure I can have the plenum and covers cleaned and painted and complete by the time the gaskets arrive, so it should all just be reassembly at that point. Is this a bad idea?
