Bigger and Widder size tire on stock rims

I need to replace my tires, i have my runner in stock mode

I want to get bigger tires using stock rim size 16.

So here is the question:

How wide can i go if the truck its all stock? also using stock rims?

And the short answer. 265/75-16 with little to no rubbing.

265/75/16 is the consensus. However, you can go larger w/little rubbing.

Some rubbing that will require come cutting and pounding to reduce it. Also the front inner sidewall might rub on the upper control arm, requiring wheel spacers.

1) do i need the upper control arm?
2) can i use 2.5" body lift instead of 1"?
3) do i need a lower trans kit?
4) anything else i might need?

Btw: i dont do rock crawling, offroad yes but not extreme.

This is a totally different setup. As far as fit...

If you have a suspension lift that works (flexes to the bumpstops), then you will have about the rubbing as running stock height suspension. True it wont rub as often but it will still rub.

33s will typicall need a 1" body lift to minimize the rubbing when fully stuffed (rubbing at the top of the inner fenders).

35s will typicall need a 2" body lift to minimize the rubbing when fully stuffed (rubbing at the top of the inner fenders).

Now to the lift you are looking at. I would strongly recommend the 600# coils. The 650s are too stiff and will not flex well.

You don't need the UCAs.

I would not go over a 2" body lift.

There is nothing to lower the trans nor would you want to.

Sorry i ment front dif drop, so do i need this if i use the toytec liftkit? If i do need one front dif drop, is there a kit?

yeah if u do a sup lift then u will probly need the diff drop. If not it could tear up the cv's over time. my fleabay kit came with the drops.

Also if u do get a lift go and by u some screw in pipe clamps and replace the ones on the outer cv boots cause like with mine i didnt know about it and i did the lift and i lost lots of greese from the boots and also made a mess under the truck so i replace then with new clamps but only after it was to late. If i would had done it at first it could had all been avoided.

Ok so you say I can put 33s on my 3rd gen runner w 3in lift and have only minor rubbing? Man the ups and down the mountains here is rough on the six cylinder so I'm not sure if I should do it since it already struggles...
I'm running now 265 70r 16 and it's fine but feels like I need a slightly larger tire for a clean look.
Appreciate the input!
