This happened the day after my wife and I finished the last season of Sons of Anarchy. I thought that show was fictitious & figured biker gangs were a thing of the past. Apparently not.

Some "gangs" are social, only. But many are engaged in quite a bit of criminal activity. At one time, OMG's (Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs) controlled much of the meth distribution in the country.

99% of biker clubs are non-criminal, which is why the outlaws refer to themselves as the '1 percenters' and a lot of them wear a 1% patch on their cuts. They're exceptionally dangerous because most of them are former soldiers and a lot more organized than your average street gang. I dont know if its because they didnt get a good woopin when they were kids, more probable they were discharged from the service and missed the action.


Looks like there were a few innocent people caught up in the violence. Terrible.

I think there is still a lot of information that needs to come out from this story. 170 people were arrested and bail set at 1 million dollars. From all reports there were only 75 to 100 members of 1%er clubs in attendance. Many of the people arrested appear to be from family clubs and Military bike clubs. Also VERY surprised no video has surfaced yet. Time will tell

But I had an FLHTCUI for awhile, and while it was by no means a performance machine, it was kind of fun to crank the stereo, set the cruise control, and putt down the highway for several hundred miles, have lunch, then putt home again.
