Hi,

Has anyone installed these shocks at the rear of a 3rd gen 4Runner? Did you have to make any modifications to the top mount?

These shocks are meant for the 4th/5th gen 4Runners and also the FJC. Just wondering if it is a direct bolt-on to a 3rd gen because the travel lengths are somewhat close to those of the LC80 OEM Tokico shocks.

How about those with the Bilstein 33-187174 (5100 for 4th/5th gen 4Runner and FJC)? Did you make any modifications to the top mount? I think Toytec sells this shock:

I installed 5100 to the rear of my 3rd gen without a problem.

I don't remember the part number, but it is 5100 long travel and looks same in the picture in your link.

In my travels I managed to blow one of the reservoirs clean off one of the 5150's I have in the rear of my truck. Has anyone actually tried this part number for the 5160's? It matches the compressed and extended lengths of the shocks that Sonoran steel sells with the 1.2 lift kit.
