I contacted 4 Wheel Parts about getting f&r Bilstein 4600 and they're telling me that the shock is back ordered. Is this just a 4 Wheel Parts problem?

A lot of Bilsteins are on national back order right now. I know most of the 5100's are on back order for a couple months.

If you are in a bind for some? I have a set with about 15,000 street miles on them. The bushing is missing on one, but i can send them to you for the shipping cost. Here is a pic. let me know.

About to order a set myself. Best price I've found is at Autoplicity - with a 2% coupon code I found, $286.81 to my door. They say they have plenty of front in stock, but the rear "ships from manufacturer". Doesn't give an ETA.

I have some brand new 4600 rears if anybody is interested. I decided to lift and went the 5100 route, which I can't find either.

Doesn't surprise me... It's a Bilstein thing

X2.

I got mine from ajusa a couple of months ago. They initially contacted me right away to state they would be on back order for a few weeks, then they contacted me again to say they found a set. I seems Bilstein is always behind.

I order a set PN# 24-188265 5100 (TRD Tundra) for a lift, from THMotorsports around the middle of March. Said they were on BO until 4-5. Contacted them on 4-7 for an updated ETA and BO them until 6-5. I started looking around and ended up talking to a guy from Bilstein - KYB - Rancho - Monroe - Edelbrock Automotive Truck Shocks and Struts - Shockwarehouse.com Really nice and very knowledgeable. He looked up THmotorsports and told me they were just a reseller and not an authorized distributor so they don't get priority. He told me a shipment was coming around the 5-21 and that as of that moment they had more than enough to fill current orders. I cancelled my order with THMotorsports, spent $10 more. and ordered from www.shockwarehouse. I get ETA updates every 5 days. The guy said they generally get the orders to customers early so they're surprised and happy with the service. My ETA right now is 6-2. I guess I should expect delivery in a week or so hopefully. We'll see. I've had all the other parts (rear shocks, springs, dif drop) sitting in my garage itchin' to get installed.

JRZEE, do you know if you need to replace the bushing in the lower shock mount for the front shocks? I'm in the same boat you are with all springs and rear shocks, but waiting on the front shocks from Wheeler's. If these from Shockwarehouse are bolt-on, then I'll cancel my order with Wheelers and order from them. Thanks

No, they bolt right in. I assume your ordering the part # I listed. You'll need the top coil isolators only if your reusing your strut mounts (rubber piece under the strut mount, on top of the spring). I ordered new strut mounts and isolators. Isolators for a TRD Tundra that is.

The bushing on the rear has to be replaced with a 3/4 ID bushing. DAYSTAR KU08007BK

just got off with Summit online chat agent. They are on back order- 4 wheel parts- autoplicity- amazon- ajusa- autozone all back ordered! Got my 99 tall coils ready to go but no shocks. Really want to go with the 4600's part # 24-024815.

Thanks gmv4k

Just got all 4 installed today and what a great improvement they've made.

The old set of Bilsteins gave me 15 years and 150K - and didn't have much of anything left.

UPDATE:

My order from Shockwarehouse.com was also continually backordered. They were sending me emails every 5 days saying my ship date was 6-2. Then I got an email around 5-30 changing my ship time to 6-9. I wasn't to concerned because it was just a week but then the emails stopped. At this time I also noticed that the same shocks were now coming up on Ebay and Amazon, which hadn't been the case for 3 months prior. I figured that the shocks were starting to trickle back so I called shockwarehouse and was basically told that they didn't know when I would get my shocks. He said if they didn't have the shocks then no one in the US would have them, which I was very skeptical of. He said if I could find them then he would buy them for me AND refund my money. "OOOOOKKKKKK" I said "well there's several auctions on Ebay right now for them that haven't been there for months" He then started to backtrack. He was looking at the auctions as I was talking to him and started picking them apart. "Oh, who's this seller, I've never heard of him. Not sure if I would trust that seller" he said. "Oh DownSouth Motorsports, they're good guys, I've worked with them" he said. Then he said " but those guys don't sell real shocks they take the Bilstein shock and customize them" At this point I felt like I was being flat out lied to. I was never mean or mad during this conversation but it was apparent that this guy was getting tired of me. Then without really asking out of the blue he said angrily "fine, I've got 50 people who'll buy these shocks. I'm refunding your money now" and hung up on me. In my whole life, I've never been treated like that. This guy was a fast talking salesman, It was the same guy who I originally spoke with who sold me in the 1st place. I wish I had gotten his name. He even ripped me because I paid with PayPal, which I had no idea what he was talking about.
Well, to complete the story, I did eventually buy them from DownSouth Motorsports (not before purchasing then having to get a refund from 4wheelparts who basically said the same thing shockwarehouse said). Called Downsouth Motorports first this time and they said they had them in stock and they would ship them out that day. I paid at 12:30pm and they were shipped 12:55pm. WOW! My shocks will be here finally on 6-12. In your face shockwarehouse!!
Just an FYI. Offroadwarehouse also emailed me a little later saying they also had the shocks and would ship the same day. The shocks are out there.
