Bilstein 5100 0.85-1.75" up front, any reason to put Bilsteins rears?

Its a $45,000 4Runner a couple hundred dollars for rear shocks should not be a question..lol..

This is 1.5 Bilstein front lift no rear lift just shocks. I have 60 extra lbs on the front bumper and no rear 130 lbs third row seat. Frame is perfectly level! 265 70 17 duratracks on 17" TRD wheels- Its my daily driver and trail use with the kids. I have a 2005 LJ for rocks..

Thanks for the posts guys! 5100's at 1.75 with stock coils in front and 5100's with T13 coils in the rear looks like an awesome upgrade! This is the setup for me so appreciate the commentary very much.

2019 Off Road Lifted passenger rear sag

Hey everyone! I’m new to this forum but have done a fair amount of research and cannot find an answer anywhere. If there is one and I missed it, sorry I posted in the wrong thread. Please be patient with me, as I am new to the lifted game. Went from a lowered mustang to a lifted truck, don’t ask why haha.

Anyway, to the issue...

I have a 2019 TRD Off road premium with no KDSS. I recently installed the Toytec front 5100 coilovers set at the lowest setting with the 1/4 top plate. I have Bilstein 5100 shocks in the rear with 1.5” Toytec spacers.

I understand that driver lean is a common issue with these vehicles, however, my issue is passenger lean. My driver side stance is perfect with the front sitting about a half inch lower than the rear, as I like the raked look. However, my entire passenger side is a half inch higher in the front, and a half inch lower in the rear, than the driver front and rear. My driver rear is at 24”(measured from center hub to top of fender) and so is my passenger front. And I have no clue why. Do I need to put a 2” cornfed spacer in the passenger rear and keep the 1.5 on the driver side to make up for the difference? Or is the issue with the front of the vehicle? All I know is that the driver side looks perfect, and the passenger is lower in the rear, which is the opposite of what I’ve read where people talk about the driver lean due to the weight difference, and also KDSS (which I do not have).

My other option would be to put new coils in the rear, but I would really like to avoid that for now if I can. I would just like for the rear to be about a half inch higher than the front (which as I mentioned above, I have on the driver side).

Thank you in advance for your help! And please correct me if I am misunderstanding anything in my explanation.

Here are some pictures just to get an idea of where everything sits. It's very deceiving on camera, but the driver side is lower in the front and the passenger is higher in the rear.

Someone can correct me if im wrong but im just sharing some info ive read elsewhere on this forum...

I believe the driver side spring has an extra coil to account for the lean?. If you pulled both struts off at the same time they could have been swapped causing the driver side to lean further and the passenger to raise up? Not sure if this is the case but ive heard of a few guys with a similar problem on this forum and thats what happened. Ill try and find the thread and post the link.

Couple questions though, what was the lift on the front? I see you have a 1.5 spacer in the rear and the front set to the lowest setting (what is the lift of the lowest setting? Im guessing around 2.5"?). I like the stance and height of your runner and am shopping lifts and want something like you have. Also what size KO2's are those?

Hi Dwilk936! Thanks for your reply.

That would make sense, but I asked the shop who did the install (they do about 100 of these a week) and they said they definitely put the driver on the driver side and passenger on the passenger side. I tried to look myself but couldn't see any labeling or anything on the shock or coil. I didn't get the exact measurements before the lift, but I believe that is correct (2-2.5" of lift from the coils alone). And I'm running 285/70/17s. Perfect fitment, didn't have to modify the mudflats at all and just minor trimming to the fenders (extremely minor). I'm planning to put on spidertrax spacers at some point, so I will probably have to do some more adjustments to the fenders at that point. I did actually remove the spare tire and it raised the passenger rear about 3/4 of an inch, so now it sits perfectly level from side to side, with about a quarter inch difference from front to rear. I love it!! Just what I was wanting. Only issue now is when I get my spare kO2, it's just going to pull it right back down and be uneven again lol But I'll cross that bridge when I get there I guess.

I am in a similar situation with my 16 trail no KDSS. I had a local shop install 5100s all around with bilstien B12 (p/n 36-281817) rear coil springs. Fronts are set are 3rd clip as I can still see the top groove on the 5100s. I also added a 1/4” spacer for driver side only. Tires are BFG K02 275/65/17. My passenger side is a little higher than my driver side. Here are my measurements with full tank of gas 3 days after install:

DS: 20 5/8”
DR: 21 5/8”
PS: 21 5/8”
PR: 22 1/16”

DS/PS difference: 1/2”
DR/PR difference: 7/16”

Any ideas how to even out the passenger side?

I went in another direction when I installed my Bilstein 5100. I installed front Bilstein 5100 Shocks with clip on 2nd notch from the bottom (0.85"). I also installed spacers on both side with the Bilstein Shocks. Added a 3/8" Spacer on the LF with new strut bolts and 1/4" spacer on the RF with new strut bolts. This will eliminate the typical lean. I got 1.75" lift on the LF and 1.50" lift on the RF.

These are the measurements before and after on 12-2-2019.
These are the measurement before and first photo:
LF -29.00 and RF -29.25
LR -31.25 and RR -31.25

These are the measurement after and second photo:
LF -30.75 and RF -30.75
LR -31.25 and RR -31.25
