Bilstein 5100 and UCA issues

sorry for your misfortune, I had to laugh at see you next tuesday. My buddy used to tell his wife that. He's a bachelor now. Took me a while to figure it out

It needs to be changed. Just pop the struts out and take them to a shop. It should be salvageable, the c clip doesn't have to be removed. Just take the top plate off pull the coil and perch flip the perch and reinstall. Hopefully the perch isn't lodged over the c clip. If it is, you might need new c clips

Agree with 4Surfin. I would uninstall them myself then take them to a shop to have them take apart and flip the perch. Will be more cost effective that way. This of course is if you have another form of transportation to get to the shop...

Volley they definitely are but just super expensive. I'll see what I can do and report back. Thanks all!

I will not argue that High Tech isn't expensive. But after all is set and done with your installation troubles, I hope that you may see the value of what it takes to have something done professionally. Seriously, I hope it works out for the best and nothing is damaged or irreversible.

So noted. Any shop can assemble the springs for you. I always just support a small local business for something like that. Goodluck with getting it corrected.

Strange...took the truck to Sears today to get an alignment and they said they couldn't do it because they don't have the specs for a 2015. Is it the same as a 14? Has this happened to anyone else?

I would recommend finding someone that has experience aligning a modified vehicle. But, yes, the specs are the same.

Sitting at the dealer now to make sure all the bolts are torqued to spec. Do you need an alignment after torquing? I may be an idiot but I got an alignment done earlier this week and they did say if it wasn't in spec then you may need another alignment...all a great learning experience for me...

You shouldn't need another alignment just from torquing the bolts. In fact you should recheck those bolts after 100 miles or so and periodically after that. I typically get a lifetime alignment so that you can get it aligned as often as you want.

Thanks Volley. The strangest thing was, I asked the dealership to torque everything to spec...and they said all they do is just use the impact gun to tighten...SERIOUSLY?

I'll check again at my first oil change but take it to my local dealer.

Which dealer are you taking it to?

There are some bolts that should be torqued every time, and other that someone with impact gun experience can judge about how tight they need to be. Most of the suspension bolts are of the latter type. There's only 7 bolts on each side to remove and replace the coilovers, so it shouldn't take long to torque them to factory specs. The lug nuts are roughly 50% of the fasteners that need to be removed, and those should always be torqued properly.
