Bilstein 5125 mounting problem

So I just got the Boss lift kit system that toytec had on their website and i've looking forward to this day when i finally got everything to start putting it on.:banana: I started with the back first and getting the old springs and shocks were a piece of cake but I'm trying to put on the new bilsteins that came with the kit and I am getting a lot of resistance just trying to slip the Eye loop on the mount connected to my rear diff. I can get it to go on about half way but then it stops and can't get it to move any further. It feels like there is a pretty substantial ridge inside the bushing on the shock itself and I think that is what's stopping me. Has anybody else had a similar problem to this??

I've read someone with this issue before. Try to look back a few threads relating to 5125s
I didn't have any issues with my install. I think others recommend trying to install bottom then top.

I did the mount in its own first so you can impact that welded nut while holding the hard to get to side. Then mounted the shock. Can't remember if I did or bottom first.

The last time I installed shocks on here I started at the top then bottom but starting either way doesn't help me it just keeps getting hung ip it that one spot... But i'll have to do some digging and see what I can find. Thanks for the input though!

I too impacted the adapters first, then mounted the tops, then the bottoms - which
also provided a good deal of resistance. Generous lube and a deab blow (prom night!)
got the job done.

It's amazing what lube can do, I literally pushed it on to that midway point and smacked it once with a rubber mallot and it it flew into place! Thanks guys for helping me with this but I also gotta ask, the adapters that were on these shocks aren't even tightened down how much did you guys torque them down? and thats the bolt that's through the shock not the top mounted bolt.

If your talking about the bolt that goes left to right that mounts the shock to the adapter it's not tight when they send it because more than likely you'll take it off to install the adapter.

Then tighten it back to it.
