Bilstein 6112 In

Our advice so far has been too expect .25 to the lower settings over the advertised lift, and .4ish on the higher settings.

So curious, based on this info, what lift can we get/expect without adversely affecting ride quality? I know the higher settings typically cause harsher ride and not recommended on the 5100s. What's the sweet spot on these?

Thanks

I ran 5100s on the highest 2.25" setting and they rode great!

TA I am looking for 2.5" on these, 3rd setting? I think Saker said he got 2" on the 2nd notch

I have mine on the top setting and the ride is butter (Tundra, not my 4Runner)

With the tuned spring and Bilstein's approach to these, you can put them on the upper settings without adversely affecting the ride too bad.

Ride is subjective as you can tell by the previous two posts about the 5100s - One saying it rides great, one saying its rough.

I think these are much smoother.

So for those of us who have already installed, looks like 3rd notch up is about 2-ish" and 4th is about 2.5-ish" leaving one notch left for a little weight... bumper/winch/whatever. Saker only did 3rd on front and nothing in back with the 5160s for level. I did 4th with rear 1.5" spacer and got stock-ish rake but about 2.5" front lift.

I wonder if just roof rack and slider will affect it. Planning my install this Friday and still can't make up my mind, 3rd notch or the 4th with my SAW rear coil. =/

4th must be better than 3rd!

Seriously though, 2.5" is a great look. Just put in some spacers and love the look. I'd be disappointed with less. Once I wear through stock rubber and put some heavier tires on, will be looking hard at this strut setup.

Greenamphibious,

As Zeusmotorworks said, I'm on the middle or third Circlip groove and I got 2.0" lift.
No spring change or spacer in rear, just 5160's and it sits level.
Look in "My Picture Album" and you can see the front coilover setting and the lift close up and from the side.....

Hope this helps

perfect, thanks. I think notch 4 and a 1.5" spacer or coil would be the route I'd go for me

Sorry to hijack...I just bought my 6112 for the front. I can't take the brake dive anymore. It will likely be a few months before I do anything for the rear.

Any advice on which setting to hit a level ride with a stock rear? Searching I have seen either the 1'st or 2nd notch. Cheers!

I am thinking of getting this set up. How are you guys liking the ride after a few 100-1000 miles of installing? Brake dive eliminated?

Thanks

Thanks.

Guess I misunderstood the post. 2-inch lift to sit level seems extreme, but if that is what it takes....

Then I suggest for you to take measurements front and rear at the ground to fender locations and see just what you need....

Hey guys, are the ride adjustments the same as the 5100's? Threads a few months old, any feedback thus far running 6112 5160 or 5100s?

I love my 6112/5160 combo.
Is it the most capable/ hardcore setup? No. But will probably suit 99% of those who want a step up from stock without knowing what a shock rebuild is or why its needed. 6112 have adjustable slots like the 5100, and rear 5160s can take 0-2.5" lift if you plan on taking that route.

Awesome, thank you! I am sure it will meet my needs. Are the adjustment increments the same? .85, 1.75, etc?
