I know right off the bat someone is going to tell me to go read the threads, and in response, I have and could not find the answer I am looking for. With that in mind....


Right now I have a toytec 2.5 inch spacer for the front and 1.5 inch springs for the rear, along with FJ struts. The issue I have is "bro rake." I am looking for a more level ride, but right now with my setup I have about 1.75 inches of rake. I am looking for closer to 1 or <1.

If I take off the spacer and put billys on the front and put them on the top setting (2.5) would that be about the same rake or would it be less given the nature of the strut? I know it says that the billy will give ~2.5 inches but I am looking for personal experience with these. Is it pretty close to 2.5 with stock coils? Any other suggestions would be awesome. Thanks

what engine do you have?

I got a little less than advertised from the Bilsteins and stock coils, you may find you are a bit under the 2.5

Also, if anybody has any ideas on how to even out my rake without completely revamping my lift I am all ears.

with 1.5" rear lift and 1.75" of rake, couldn't you just level it out by putting the stock coils back in the rear? Is that an option?

I mean that would work, but I was looking for something for the front to lift it up a little bit more. The height where the back is now is perfect for me. I have 275 70 17 BFG ATs and if I could get the front up some that would just be perfect. I thought about going for the toytec .75 inch top spacer to bring it closer to 1 inch rake, but I don't know if that would be the best option.

Cool, I got ya. Yeah, I think that might be the way to go. It's basically their 3" spacer lift system. I don't think the bilsteins will get you there. I could be wrong.

Consider the Bilstein from an FJ are similar to the 5100 in valving and internal pressure the rake would stay the same. What you could do is run the 5100 at the higher setting (1.2 I think) and get close to zero rake. That said do you normally load your trunk at all? A few hundred pounds will drop the back some and you will have rake front to back.

Once you get above 2.5" of lift you may start running into alignment problems in the front too unless you upgrade the upper control arm.

No I rarely have a bunch of stuff in the rear. I understand what you mean about the UCA's with a higher lift. I actually have the tokiko FJ struts. I think I might just have to save up and eventually upgrade the entire system. For off road performance wise I might just go with a 1 inch body lift and live with the rake for now.
