Bilstein lift difficulties

So I have a 2000 4runner limited that I recently lifted. I went with the 5100's up front with the toytec/eibach springs, toytec super flex springs and 5100's in the rear and a 1in diff drop. I got a very nice level ride out of this lift with using the middle perch height on the struts up front. The ball joints, tierod ends, and cv axles did not like the change to much so about three weeks after the lift I replaced lbj's, ubj's, tre's, and cv's. It's been about three weeks since I replaced it all and my new cv's are making the same loud banging noise over every bump that the original cv's made before replacing. They also have bleed out a ton of grease like the old ones did after the lift. My question is should I have my front spring perchs on the lowest slot to lower my front end lessening the angle of my cv's or is there something else I can do to stop this issue. If there is anyone else running this set up can you tell me what perch you have yours set at? I have not even wheeled it yet and I am burning up cv's. Thanks for any help.

What's the shock part number you bought? If it's D558, they should be set on the lowest perch, otherwise it is too much lift for the given shock. Did you receive the shock with the perch set like it is?

It is the D558. And know I didn't I just thought that's what I should set it on. I guess I'll have to drop it down to the lowest perch. Do you think it will change my ride height?

What are the measurements from hub to fender front and rear?

If your level now and you change your perch on the front, I would imagine it would change your ride height.

It is the D558. And know I didn't I just thought that's what I should set it on. I guess I'll have to drop it down to the lowest perch. Do you think it will change my ride height?

You will certainly lose a little ride height when lowering the clip setting. But your ride quality will improve and as you can already tell, you're causing your other components harm by having it set where it is. With the D558's you really need to have it on the lowest setting with those springs. With the Tundra 6929's you can get away with the 2nd from the bottom clip setting. Another thing to check is that you don't have your spring perch on upside down, that is also a common install mistake and can cause problems like you are having.

As it is now the snap ring is covered up by the perch. If I were to flip it around you would be able to see the snap ring. Is that how it should be?

I'm more like 3-1/2 inches up front and 3-3/4 in the rear with no weight. My truck usually has no weight so I am worried I'll end up with a ton of rake once I drop it.

If you dont want rake, you should have not gone with superflex coils. Unloaded they can give you near 4" of lift with the stock bump cones installed.

If you almost level now than you have way to much front lift and its causing the cv's to bind. Lower to the lowest perch. If you dont want so much rake you can swap your rear coils. Then if you feel you need more lift you can always do a body lift.

Yep. Sounds like you have it installed correctly. Just to be sure look at the photos below. Even if the spring perch is installed correctly you really should lower it to the bottom perch. The banging sound you're hearing is probly the shock fully extending (bottoming out) when going over bumps, not the cv's (although cv's can bind if there is too much droop). So as said before, not only are you putting stress on other suspension components, but you're risking the new shocks breaking as well. And toytec likely won't warranty them if they aren't on the bottom clip setting.

Im getting ready to install this same lift. Mine is set to the bottom setting and I got the Toytec 3" rear springs so hopefully it will sit pretty level when done.
