Bilstein or Eibach ???

"The tires did firm up the ride a bit, and I am now very happy with the set-up. The stock tires definitely contributed to the "wallowing" feel."

I am in the same boat. Just installed WildPeak AT/3 in stock size 265/70/17. Ride is definitely better, the "wallowing" is greatly reduced.

With Black Friday next week, I'm looking to level and not use spacers. It seems my choices are:

Bilstein 5100's / stock springs set to .85 or 1.75
or
Eibach Pro Truck / stock springs set to .8 or 1.6

I'd like to tighten up the factory ride without getting a harsh ride.

what do you guys think and anyone using the Eibachs with stock springs?

No need to go up any notches on the Eibach's, as the included taller springs provide the lift, not the clip. Provided you don't have aftermarket bumper, winch etc.

NP - you are correct if using the Eibach kit (shocks and springs - 2.75 front lift 1.0" rear lift). I am more interested in "leveling" the vehicle, reducing brake dive and cornering lean.

I can't directly compare the Bilstein and Eibach, but EVERY vehicle I've installed Bilstein on has firmed up too much,,,borderline harsh. For that reason alone I'm going to the Eibach/stock spring combo. Eric at Eibach assured me that the shocks are modular with the Pro Truck lift system , so if a person want's to go higher later, all they need to do is buy the rest of the kit.
Plus on another forum there is a detailed post on this exact setup ( Eibach and stock dprings) and the user noted how nice the ride remained with the Eibach vs Bilstein.

Edit: for what it's worth, I live in a rural area with rough roads so my bias as to what is harsh may be different from others results.

I got Eibachs on my 4th gen. They ride great not harsh at all. Can't compare them to the Bilsteins though. I read somewhere that the valving on the Eibachs is better for the rough stuff.
 
I installed the Bilstein 5100s set at 0.85 about a year ago and couldn't be happier.

Good insight from bugkillr that he found the Bilstein's were too harsh.

It may come down to personal preference.
 
I really like the eibach pro truck kit. Ride is a little tighter, but not harsh. Both on and off road it rides much better. The nose dive while braking is not completely gone but significantly reduced. And the 4runner handles better around corners as well.

I’ve got the Eibach shocks set at 1.6 with the factory springs. Ride is firmer and more controlled than factory but not harsh. I also used the 4th gen rear springs and got a little over 3/4” in the back.
