Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

Just placed an order for the kit, wasn’t planning on ordering suspension until I needed tires but kind of hard to pass this up!

Yeah, I just purchased too and I was also planning to do wheels/tires first. Just got my TRD Offroad last week for my wife. I rarely do impulse buys or jump on the bandwagon, but this really does seem too good to be true. Lol Hopefully its not! :banana:

I had been convincing myself for months that I needed a lift and was getting ready to order a full set of 5100s any day now with plans on doing 1.75” setting up front with a 1” rear spacer. My only concern is that that setting may be a tad higher than I want.

It sounds like this TRD PRO set up might be perfect with the 1” up front built in. But I second guess everything and am worried I might actually want 1.75 after all. Most springs I’ve seen give 1.5” or more. So what options would I have if I was looking for an addition 0.5” in the front on top of the 1” hat it comes with?

Ugh, Dang. This deal might be too good to pass up. Paying for a house and a wedding this year is really killing my modding vibes.

I’ve been googling, as u should as well to find an answer. I’ve seen where items such as coilovers showing fitment saying for 2010+ 4runner and fj cruiser and so on. That tells me since this kit is for fj then it should work. Also someone just stated above in this thread that at some Toyota sites says this is for 4runner and fj cruisers. Pull the trigger and get it. Not like u will be stuck with it if it doesn’t. I’m sure these will sell out. If it doesn’t work out I bet u could sell it on CL or here no prob and get all your money back.
I’m pretty sure they will fit. I’m installing these on my 2006 t4r.
Maybe someone else will chime in.

This is why I ordered it. These are going in my garage until someone else gets them on. Also, wanting to know how much it lifts the vehicle, and if I will want to buy a spacer. I figure Olathe is an hour from here. I can take them back and return them if this goes wrong for others.

Yeah, I went on faith that I can just return them or resell them if need be. But I think risk is very low that these aren't the real deal.

I am hoping someone will answer as to three things I need to know. Will it work on my KDSS 4runner, how much does it add front and back, and can I add a spacer front and rear if it's not as much as I want?

It doesn't seem like anyone has installed this specific part number on a 4Runner. or at least hasn't arrived in the thread to tell us about it.

I have KDSS, so will be able to comment on that as well as height change. But I don't see why the KDSS would cause a problem or interference. The last question has already been answered that yes you can.

I think you will be good. Soon as I get my setup on and also when I receive the kit, I will post here for all to see.

Haven't read the whole thread but this is the FJ kit right? If so I installed some takeoffs from an FJ TTUE which I believe is this kit. It will work on KDSS 4Runner, during install I added a 1/4 Toytec top plate spacer and I probably got in total 3/4" front. But I also got a slight lift in the rear, I guess only due to stiffer shocks, not much maybe a half inch.

I'd run it. As has been said late model fj and 4runner suspension are the same for all aftermarket companies I know of. I have 1st gen fj fox 2.5 on my 15 4runner. Here are a couple of links with pics to compare the FJ team trail kit to the T4R Pro kit. Top hats are included and coil overs are assembled on the T4r Pro kit. FJ kit, no top hats included so not assembled. Notice both kit’s 6112’s have 2 perch positions to compensate for lean. Rear 5160’s look to be identical. It’s interesting to note the Tacoma Pro kit, which was also on sale, also has 2 clip positions on the 6112’s. As far as I have read, all of these kits include 600lb eibach coils (Baja kit has 650lb coils). Both kits are claiming 1” lift (fronts).

Really interested in seeing the results, I have a 16 trail and looking for a tad more height without sacrificing a lot of on road driveability. Hoping it would help with the nose dive as well

The 2014 FJ these were originally equipped with had a curb weight of 4343lbs. Current 4runner is at 4700lbs for the TRD/Pro models. I would assume these coils are not as stiff as the Pro suspension spec'd to the 4Runners.

Ordered a set, will compare PNs to my 2018 Pro's when they get here.

I think I'm leaning back towards the billys on all fours. They are tried and true and offer a bit more flexibility up front. Im sure these are probably a better product, but for my needs its just an extra $100+ of overkill.
