Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

I had the same concerns as you. After seeing photos of the T13 under load I didn't like the reverse rake look. Without any load the lift looks perfect. I decided to go with the Toytech 2" lift made specifically for the TRD Pro suspension. I ended up returning my T13s and I'm very happy with the stance. I actually like the mild rake but this may be a turn off to others.

I went with the superflex coils in the rear but others have gone with the sway-a-ways 1.5" coils that actually give you closer to 2" of lift due being a bit stiffer.

Saw the picture of your lift setup and it looks good. What are your measurements front and rear? I have the T13 and it sags more than I expected under load. While my Dob 327's are just ridiculously high for the FJ TRD PRO shocks - I'd have to buy more stuff and add weight to the rear just to use the 327's.

I can get you measurements later when I get home no problem. I have yet to put the rears under any type of load but I'm sure there are several members here who can give feedback. I don't know the specific spring rate but I do know that Toytech advertises them as 10% over stock.

So with the Toyotec TRD lift kit, you are actually getting 3" over stock? (2" toyotec + 1" trd front coils) I'm looking to stay at 2" or below to avoid needing to upgrade UCAs.

Toyotec's website doesn't state the FJ suspension as compatible, only certain year Tacos and 4Runner. Does it matter?

Let me help clarify what the kit consists of. The Toytech 2" kit comes with the Baja 1" coil spring seat along with a top mount spacer which provides approximately .5-.75" of lift. Total it's more like 1.5-1.75" total so roughly 2.5-2.75" over stock. Several people including myself have been able to get the alignment within spec without upgrading the OEM UCA. If you decide to just use the Baja 1" coil spring seat by itself you can keep the stock UCA and get within specs for sure.

Although the Toytech site doesn't list the FJ, the 2" kit will fit the FJ TRD suspension. It is basically the same kit as the 4runner kit. The only difference is the FJ uses a 14" coil vs 13" on the 4runner. Because the FJ coil is 1" taller the spring perch is 1" lower on the FJ shocks. As a result they both provide 1" over stock. Valving maybe a bit different between the two kits as well but overall I'm very happy with the FJ kit especially at the discounted price.

Gotcha - that makes sense. If the Baja 1" will fit, I think I'm going to do that in the front. Still undecided about the rears. hmmmmm. Thank you!

Just installed last weekend and did the fronts first with a Daystar 1.25” isolator. We stopped to admire out work and it looked like the front was slightly taller than the rear. I added the T13 coil in my package and that gave me a small forward rake, but not the ‘stink bug’ that is had with the stock setup up. Point being, you might be slightly high up front with only the 1.25” isolator. I didn’t drive it and let it settle so maybe it would work out. Good luck, cheers.

I don’t want to have that rake since I won’t be hauling anything heavy in the back. Want a level stance w/o upgrading UCA. Wanted to see pics to see how it look before making that decision. Thanks tho

I think most people are doing this kit + a front spacer (like the daystar) + T13 rear springs to get a 2/1 lift. That's 2" in the front and 1" in the rear, which gives them a pretty level ride.

The general consensus is that you don't need new UCAs until you approach 3" of lift in the front, so that isn't really a consideration.

If you just really want to play it safe, you could do just this kit for a more level ride without lifting the rear at all.

rear driver reservoir loose, anyone else having this issue? I had tire discounters install it and just notice it shifted today and the bolt was loose. Tried tightening it but no luck. :bash: I also noticed the passenger rear used a different hole, tried both on the drivers side and no luck. Thoughts?

Just buy the Bilstein reservoir brackets and you won’t have any worries

No issues with mine, I had. A local shop shoe I’ve worked with before do the install. They specialize on Japanese cars and have a couple 1000hp Supras and Infinity’s there.

I just ran to check my bracket, tight as ever.
