bird poop[ remover

Hey everyone, this may sound dumb but everytime I get my 4Runner cleaned up, the birds seem to "notice" too if you know what I mean. Is there anything I can use that will remove the poop and not damage the paint? Maybe window cleaner and paper towels?Thanks for your help. Danny

Nah, you don't want to squirt window cleaner on your paint.

Just spray it with water and let it soften up, then wipe it carefully with a soft cloth. You've gotta be careful though, because there are several kind of birds that ingest tiny rocks to aid in digestion. It's possible for you to scratch the hell out of your paint if you carelessly wipe bird crap off your paint.

i keep a squirt bottle with regular H2O and a microfibre towel in the truck at all times.

If I get bird crap or bugs dried on hard, then I soak a soft towel in warm water and let it sit over the affected area while I wash other parts of the car. This softens up the stuff pretty good usually.

For stuff thats fresh, I just use Griot's detail spray and a microfiber towel.

It's also very important to remove it as soon as possible. Bird poop is very acidic and can etch your clear coat/paint.

I just picked my ;06 T4R 2 weeks ago. While cleaning it, I noticed on the roof there was some really old bird poop. I tried soaking it, cleaners, simple grean degreaser and some other stuff, very unsucessful I might add. Although you can't see it, it bothers me that this is there. I'm also worried about the paint. Short of taking it to a detail shop and see if they can steam clean it, I don't know what else do to. Please help as I am running out of ideas.

I picked up my new T4R this past Tuesday after having a paint sealant installed. Guess what I found. Bird poop. Some how they know when and where to poop. Spooky.

First I would try a Bug & Tar remover, then move on to a Clay Bar and if neither works then a fine hand polishing compound.
