Bizarre rear light problem

Today I discovered that my passenger side rear light appears to somehow have the backup light and blinker lights reversed. When I put the left turn signal on, the top amber bulb

blinks normally. When I put the right turn signal on, only the lowest

clear bulb blinks. Likewise, when I use the remote to lock/unlock the driver rear top amber light blinks while the passenger rear lower clear light blinks.

What is going on?​

Check your wiring against your schematic.
Without the schematic, open the housings up and compare wiring.​

Thanks RAD. Let me make a correction: they are not necessarily reversed, since when I put it in reverse gear, only the driver side backup light comes on. Nothing on the passenger side comes on when reverse is selected.

Understood...
Repeat: open the housings up and compare wiring?
Did you inspect wiring? Anything broken? Anything corroded?
What do you see different between the left and right side?
Did you just notice this now and did you see it working properly earlier?
As mentioned above, did you inspect your bulbs?
Do you have any aftermarket things added to your rear lights?

You are also in the best position to do/answer all of the above. That is your homework

Fixed!

Since my 4R is bone stock and everything was working correctly before yesterday, I knew this had to have something to do with me checking bulbs yesterday. It turns out that I did not have the passenger tail/brake light socket seated correctly with all 3 brass contacts making contact with the housing properly.

Note to others: unlike the blinker socket and the backup light socket that are keyed to only lock into the housing one way, the taillight/brake light bulb socket CAN be inserted incorrectly. And it will cause goofy issues with your other lights. I found out the hard way...
