Black Bezel Headlights

yeah I know people do it themselves, but my lenses are all aged and worn and id rather spend a few bucks and have brand new. I just want to see what the black bezel on the silver color looks like..

What is a BHLM?

Black head light mod, baking the headlight, opening, and painting the chrome.

OP & Mikep.

Search for zstampe's build thread, or check the build thread sticky at the top of the sub forum, he had black headlights on a silver one.

Also trevloc I believe, both have links to build threads in the 4th gen build sticky.

Oh....the OP was looking for links to people with black head lights, why tell him to look for black head light mod threads? especially using a random acronym that a new person would probably never understand. :ybrick:

Anyways, to the OP, I suggest doing it yourself, the original head lights are better quality than the aftermarket ones out there, some people really like their aftermarket head lights though so you could always give them a shot.

The only issue with doing it yourself is some people end up getting moisture on the inside of the lens afterwards but i think if you do a good enough job they should turn out just like new because a lot of people have no issues.

I dunno, didn't make that recommendation, kinda thought the same thing, but I just explained it since you asked and pointed OP towards a couple builds....

How could I forget Magert?! One of my favorites!

Honestly thats what I figured but I wasnt sure.. thanks again.. looking through the magert54 build now. Love the way that looks. everything ive looked through has brought me to the realization that I need to make alot more money lol.

I have DawgRunner on my wallpaper right now and every time I turn my computer on I have the urge to buy at least one thing that he has.

engagement rings/houses > 4Runner......

Yeah my Timing Belt is due this year too. at least that isnt all that expensive compared to some of the mods I'd like to do.

It's easy to do yourself just get the right silicone to replace the orig. Clean out ALL of the old stuff to assure you have a good seal on reassembly. Make sure you dont leave the headlights too long. I found that it ended up "crackling" the lens.
This was my previous truck an 04 sport trac that I did the headlight bezel. IT looked great on that truck but it was also black I am not sure it'd work well for other colors. I wouldn't do it the the gold 4runner i have now

The last foggy pic is the truck with "stock" head lights. The close up is with the painted bezel. I painted the inside of the reflector but not the flat angled surfaces to get more black all the way around. I did not notice any difference in light output. I also did the turn signals. I was trying to figure out how to cut vinyl to black out the brake lights but the 2-d to 3-d conversion kinda was out of my reach. I never got it right.
