Black front and rear emblems

Hi guys,

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a pair of black/smoked front grill and rear tailgate trim toyota emblems?

Most people use plasti dip. Thats what I've used on my emblems and it holds up fine.

Buy new emblems off eBay, lightly sand, 3 coats of black 2-in-1 primer/spray paint, two coats of UV resistant clear spray paint, pull the adhesive tape on the back and you have a permanent, good looking solution.

Way cheaper to just use plastidip, don't even have to remove the emblems, just tape a square off around them, 1 light coat, a few normal coats with 5-10 min tack time between, then after it dries just peel the overspray and open centers of the emblems out with a toothpick. My front badge lasted over a year of no care and pressure washing then I had to peel it off and respray, rear is going on 2 years now.

Another vote for plastidip. After searching high and low for factory black pearl emblems, to no avail, I took the time to remove, sand, and paint mine. Front Toyota emblem is chipping away in multiple spots a year later.

If I could do it over I would have not wasted the time and just plastidipped. Since I can do it over again, that's what I'll do.

i thought you're not supposed to sand when plasti dipping? i remember reading somewhere that the surface is just supposed to be clean.

The person who mentioned sanding was talking about using regular paint, not plastidip.
I never sand for plastidip, just clean with a degreaser, then hit it with rubbing alcohol and let it dry.

missed that part! i want to do my sport wheels soon, gonna practice on the spare. should i use degreaser on the rims to get the stuck-on shit off?

It looks like plasti-dip might be the way to go in this case.
