Shoot! I should have shopped around a little more. I paid a bit more than $4 and picked up this imported piece from a Canadian neighbor (Ellis Precision).

I get these $3 ones and replace the clear plastic once a year when I apply the reg sticker.

Definitely suggest upgrading the mounting hardware to stainless or at least use anti-seize.
I also use vinyl caps to cover the screw heads...now my truck has nipples.

Anything out there that covers the lower holes in the plates that doesn't look cheesy. Right now I'm using the plastic dealer frame that I painted.

Ellis Precision sells a really nice aluminum holder that can be laser engraved. Not sure what he can put on them though. I just got mine, but ordered it blank.

I got this matte black aluminum one from Amazon for $10. Includes both front and back frames with mounting hardware.

It has fantastic reviews and I think it looks great on my 4Runner. Can't go wrong with aluminum.
