black T&H Eurotech Grille Guard

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone had pictures of a black 4runner with a black T&H eurotech grille guard. i searched the forum and could only find pictures of the stainless color grille guard on a 4runner. I'm debating weather the stainless is worth the additional $70. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a black 4R and will be getting this bar soon but can't decide on black or SS. I would like to see pics of the black on black also.
Sometimes I think the black would look all business where the SS would look a little foo-foo (read poser).
BUT, the SS does look pretty nice though.

I want to retract my previous post, both the powder coated and stainless are make of stainless steel and have a lifetime warranty.

I photoshopped a photo from Luxury's thread on his mods to change his grille guard to a black one.
This should give you an idea of what it would look like. I personally would like the black better than the chrome on my silver 4Runner, but on a black truck it might not look quite right.

The stainless has to be polished.

I have only stainless grille guard since my 4runner is grey. The color matches well.

Hey Koz,
I think you might be right about the black rusting. Autoseattle.com offers a lifetime warranty on the stainless but only 3 years on black powdercoated bar. That could be a sign that the black will rust eventually. Does anyone have experience or problems with powdercoated bull bars rusting?

Black will never last like all stainless will. Most companies never offer their black bars with more than just a few years on warranty. If you are in NY, I'd worry about it. If you are in a warm climate and only plan to keep your truck 3 years, black would be ok.

Now, I've done some black powdercoated Jaos guards, which are fully stainless, but black powerdoated. This will be lifetime as well.

The advantage of black over stainless is that it can be touched up if you get a scratch. Stainless, if the scratch is deep enough cannot be buffed out or removed.

I had black nerf bars on my Jeep for 10 years, powercoated, welded to the frame, and never had any issues with rust. I had some deep scratches (read gouges) from off-roading in Colorado for many years, but these were able to be touched up.

If you go with powercoat, make sure the company sends you info on their process. Some companies have a flimsy process for powdercoat which scratches more easily. If you go with stainless, go for the Stainless Steel Magic wipes if you want to keep them shiny and clean.

westin ultimate bull bar with skid plate

anyone have the westin ultimate bull bar with skid plate? i think its a fairly new application for the 4runner. it is a 2.5" tube instead of 3" like the taco. i think the westin looks better than the t&h eurotech and it covered by a 5 year warranty compared to 3 years. here is a picture.

Yes, they are pretty nice. I've sold a few of these locally, and no complaints.

I have noticed that someone has bump into the bumber and put some marks and dents into it. Easy to see up close.

I like the look of that bull bar a lot! Is the skid plate portion functional or just for looks?

Mainly for looks. Westin doesn't really make anything that's too hardcore.

It's not actually released yet. The ones I sold were for the Taco, which is a similiar unit. I'm not sure when this one for the "4Runner" will be released, but I will check.

Cool, if you can, send me an email or private message whenever you find out. I'm really interested in that one. I like how it looks a little more then the T&H bar although the T&H may be more sturdy. Thanks man!
