Black Trail edition: powder coat trails black or dark grey?

So I really like the Trail stock rims... Thinking of powder coating them black I don't know If black on black will look good... And do I go matte black? Or do I go with a dark matte gunmetal gray? Advice? Pics?

Anyone have any pics of a black trail with their rims dark gray?

I say be a little different and go with a bronze! There is only one or two black with bronze wheels.

I am thinking of going to bronze with my silver, in memory of my 350Z.

I was about to go bronze for my new wheels.........coming in a few weeks

If you do want to go black, I would save the cash and just rattle can them matte black. I had my first set of trail wheels spray painted, costs me only like $10 in paint, lasted all through winter, never chipped (until I started beating on them, on the trails).

My rattle can skills are not very impressive.... Just knowing if I powder coat the rims I'll have to spray paint the plastic center caps myself is a big enough challenge.

hey Vegas, ever considered plasti-dip to try out the color temporarily and see if you like it? https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php

Not sure how it would hold up long term, but certainly worth a shot it try out the color before you commit to powder coating!

I have thought about attempting it... but the results on just blacking out my emblems haven't been great, the texture ends up with little hair looking things on it... (((might be time to just attempt the krylon fusion matte black spray paint on the emblems))) the thing I do really like about plasti dip is it comes off easy... but it's a lot of prep work to cleaning the rims and putting player cards in between the tires and rims and I just don't know when you wash the car and try to clean the brake dust off the rims if it would really hold up... I would rather pay someone who know what they are doing when it comes to painting.:artist:

I'd cover the caliper and just point & shoot. Someone else here did it over the weekend (search plastidip) and said he didn't mask anything off.

I like them too. I was going to spray them gloss black. Now bronze is sounding good too. If gray I would go dark like the Lexus hyper silver.
