Blacked Out Emblems, Tinted Tails, & LED strips Installed!

Black chrome would look badass, I might have to look into that! Well I had a 40 on my 98 4Runner and it was so damn loud, went with the 50 on my 02 and was more satisfied with it, is there any other exaust you would recommend besides Flowmaster?

Well it sounds like you don't want the super deep loud sound so I think you are right with going with the 50. I like my Vortex, but I think it would be in the same category as the 40.

A lot of people like the TRD complete exhaust system. I think it is overpriced and I hate the tips.

If you wanted a full exhuast change I would buy the muffler seperatly and then just have a shop put on bigger piping. It should cost more than $250-$300.

Can't really comment on the LED's since I don't understand why the're there other than cool factor.

Not that my opinion means anything, but I'd black out the Rainbow Brite stars on the rims, change the exhaust tip, black out the horns, and call it perfect. I can't imagine anything else you could do to it visually to make it any better. Just don't do too much.

FWIW, I like the bug deflector.

Thanks man, the 3rd brake light was suppose to be tinted but they didn't for sone reason, I didn't notice it until I got home... lol Yeah that is one reason why I was hesitating on taking it bac, I don't want to get pulled over for not having any red. But your 4Runner looks badass too, did you ever get that blacked out billet grille? I'm thinking about getting that soon, your exaust looks good as well, I might have to do somethin like that.

Thanks, never got the billet. I had it orderd but there was some mix up and I just ended up canceling it. I still want to do it, maybe this summer.

As far as the exhaust, at first I wanted the flowmaster 50 series too. I ended up going with the magnaflow, because of the high quality and straight thru design. I like the sound better than the flowmaster too, it is a little louder than the 50 series. If you get a dual in dual out you can get rid of the restrictive Y pipe.

Yeah I'll probably just stick with the 50, I liked how it sounded on my 02, it wasn't too loud nor was it to quiet. It sounded perfect with the Volant cold air intake. But holy shit, that black chrome tip looks awesome, dual black chrome tips out the rear would look amazing...

I'm sure if they would've charged me it wouldn't have been that much, maybe $20 if I had to guess? But yeah the front and rear emblems are blacked out too.

Thanks man, I wanted the LEDs just for more illumination at night time, I've had them ever since my 98 4Runner so I figured, why not put them in my 08? lol. The stars, I may black out in the future, but as for the horns I'm going to get a bolt on billet grille and have it blacked out which will hide them.

Looks great! Dump the hood deflector...or maybe take it off, snap a pic, and put it back on (post the pic of course). I think it would look a lot better without it. Either way, that's one fantastic looking 4runner.

Hmm, quite a few people have said to do this, I might take it off just to see how I like it...

They don't sell them with black stars, but you can have them blacked out. There is a member on here that had that done.

I have been to JC before and I bet that rig stands out - it's pretty country/small town up there. My parents lived in Abingdon VA for a few years and I always loved visiting the mt's. FL is not all that. Do you ever go over to Mt. City and the off road park (highcountryatv.com). I have been there a few time but only on the KTM not the Runner.

Hey man, it's the same gloss black paint that's on the Urban Runner, the bodyshop ordered it from Toyota, I would assume.

Thanks man, yeah as far as other 4th Gen 4Runner's, there's only a few custom ones. But have you been to JC in the past few years? It's starting to grow at a rapid rate, shopping centers & new businesses are going up everywhere!

i dont know...im kind of mixed on it. it looks good dont get me wrong, but i dont know if i (myself)could live w. that look for a long period. the rims are nice. the bug deflector i would ditch that. they have a use but the look youre going for it takes away from it. the tint and headlights look great. overall its a clean job..but like a previous post said do not go overboard. dont 'rice' it out. id almost say...stop with what youve done already

as for people needing help on the LED's. just simple wiring. its not rocket science but if you need help try here! ive done many neon kits and lights and set ups. its super easy.

Haha there's no way to rice out a blacked out vehicle, well I guess I could throw a bolt on spoiler on there, some on those stick on vent things that the escalades have, some chrome euro tails, etc. then we'd be heading in the race direction.

But I think I'm pretty much done w/ the exterior, just need to get the chrome tag blacked out and the front windows tinted darker, and the 3rd brake light.
