This obstacle is alot tougher and steeper than what it appears on video. Or maybe I just made it look easy...lol.


The power with the 4.88's is the perfect compromise I'd say, for me I wouldn't try any less! The gas mileage hasn't
suffered any much more than when I ran the 33's. Low end torque at take offs is definitely present to get you back up
to speed fast..Understandably, the tires are exactly 10 pounds heavier each!

Now that it's trail tested, it does feel alot lighter driving on road with less hauled equipment in the cargo
space.

4 Seasons.............not!

Next trip will probably be with the Tacoma guys in April.

Like I said in my thread, some people do it because they need to and because they use it, and some do it for looks. I get the impression you are the will need/use kind.

Haha....there really wasn't too much involved with the 1.5"BL I have...plus with the welder I bought everything went even easier for me.

Everytime we go seems to be getting more challenging out there, these tires will definitely play major role one time or another. Going to Whipsaw this summer suddenly sounded really doable...... now that I think about it.

Yeah the 33's have been quite the performer so I wanted to stick with what works for me.

X2! It makes that (very nice) silver 4RUnner look like a stock soccer mom rig. Seriously, I think it would look perfectly normal if you snapped a picture with both your front wheels on the roof of a half-crushed Chevy Cavalier.

Absolutely amazing... I am just loving the look. It just makes me jealous of you. Did the rear roll bar help with the chassis feeling more rigid, or more stabile on or off road?

The roll bar is not bolted to anything structural, but to some degree I would like to think it does help a little bit...after all it's bolted on four corners.

I see what you mean. Well I figured it might have made a difference. Hows the view from the rear view mirror with the tire and the roll bar? Is it blocking your view much?

Right now I still have a good amount of view from the mirror, enough to make good judgments even whan backing up. Note that my spare tire is more offset to the passenger side also, so my window's only diminished but not completely blocked.
