picked up a set of 17" rims which I didn't know the name of..all i know is that I wanted 'em the first time I saw them..Actually started a thread about it last year to see if anyone knows anything about them..no one knew..It was finished in chrome but with severe pitting so I had them refinised in polished aluminum. Had them sitting for 6 months since December.

Pretty sure those are Axis Wheels. They could be the On Road or the Off Road, they had the same wheel, the center cap was the only thing that looked different.

Holly efffin wtf geeze!!! I just seen the rear cargo set up with the subs and everything. All I've gotta say is your attention to detail is immaculate! I'm in awe. I've been slowly gathering some parts to do a ton of maintenance and a few nice upgrades. But man I wish I had the time and cash to do all of this incredible work! It's really hard working 50 hrs a week, school 2 days, and a pregnant girlfriend. But at least my days are surrounded with nothing but toyotas!

Cant' say SAS hasn't crossed my mind, if at all, that's gonna happen way way way way down the line. I don't know if I even have a need for it to be honest. Time will only dictate what comes next I guess.

hey there, I see you are running pretty big tyres for a while have you had any rear axle bearing failures? what kind of bearing sits in the rear of this model?
Ive got a gen 2 runna and have had 2 axle bearings fail in the last 5 years that really stuffs up your weekend, just hear a crack then wullump, axle is on fire burying its way into the diff housing, dang it
Im thinking of removing the seal from the roller bearing and running a marine grease, I also run a super wide offset rim with a 4in wheel gaurd flare

I have to say that I haven't had any kinda issues in regards to the bearing so far(knock on wood) as the wheels spin smoothly without any metallic grinding noices noticed or heard. Pretty sure I would've felt the vibration 'cross the floorboards by now if they'd gone bad or have had excess play in them.

Pretty sure the bearings were replaced with the Yukon re-gear kit when I had it done little over a year ago. Don't quote me on that though, otherwise they would still be stock bearings.

are these models just the usual hilux roller bearing? seems the leaf sprung hilux with positive offset stock rims can handle high loads all day, im beginning to wonder if its just rapid cooling (ie launching boat) causing mine to fail
ive pulled a bearing out where the actual balls have snapped in half but not worn out???
