I had that annoying sensor go off and checked all my tires and they were all inflated properly. I was told that the batteries are dead in one or more of the tires that will need to be replaced. When I heard the cost of replacing them, I decided not to bother. It isn't worth the trouble to do this. I just ignore the stupid light since I check my tires once a month regularly so don't need some dumb light to tell me anything. After a couple of weeks of ignoring it, I don't even notice it anymore. I also heard the spare tire is connected to this system too, so if you don't find the tire that is causing the issue, it could be your spare tire.

following a blowout from a pothole I didn't see in the rain a couple weeks ago my spare is being used lol. since my tires are over halfway through their lifespan Im just running 4 with no spare lol. by the time I have to get all new tires the city of VB will have sent me a $200 check for my blowout

The light is on because of the missing spare, or if you have it back on the spare tire holder it has no air now, either way no spare or air in the spare the T4R TPMS is programmed for 5 tires and as such the light will come on, when you have all 5 on the truck and under pressure the light will go off....unless when you had the blowout it damaged the sensor.

That’s why. It’s looking for the 5th sensor.

How do you disable that annoying TPMS light? I check my tires every month and they are always fine, but I can't stand that annoying light. Replacing the dead batteries is an option, but why pay for something I don't need! Thanks!

Count me in for the blinking TPMS light on the dash as well on my 07' T4R. I used the following procedure to try and diagnose the issue:

engine running
left front tire
drop tire pressure to 25 psi
TPMS light changes from blinking to constant illumination
Increase tire pressure back to 32 psi
TPMS light changes from constant illumination back to blinking
.
repeat process for other 4 remaining tires

Not sure what to make of this. It's obvious there is not a complete lack of communication with each tire sensor and the control module.

My light was on continuously and after checking the pressures, etc, still stayed on.

Then I took the vehicle in for O/C and tire roto, lights off...?!?!

Did you remove your spare?

mine has been blinking and if there is a sensor in the spare and it signals when there's no longer communication - that could be the issue.

My TPMS light was blinking so I took the advice of one of the members here. I let the air out of the front left tire and the light went on steady , I reinflated that tire and now the light is still on steady. Did the same procedure on remaining tires and I now have the light on steady. Any ideas ???

I had the same problem and was told the batteries on those TPMS valves were probably kaput. To replace those valves you could be paying a minimum of $300. So, I decided to totally disable that feature and avoid the headache. It hasn't been an issue since.

My TPMS would blink after commuting to work. I typically drive my Scion or carpool but occasionally drive my 4Runner. Round trip is about 140 miles. I disabled the TPMS after about a year of that annoying blinking light. I routinely check my tire pressure anyways.

If you don't want to replace all 5 sensors, air down each tire one by one. If the light goes solid, air it back up and move to the next tire. When the light keeps blinking even though you're aired down, that's the busted sensor. Asshats at discount tire tried to tell me all 5 were bad, told them to piss off because it was only 1 sensor. They changed that one out, reset the computer, and I was on my way.

That is a fantastic way to diagnose which sensor is the culprit that needs to be replaced. I just went thru all 4 tires and spare and found that front passenger sensor is bad. Ordered a replacement on Amazon and Discount Tire will install for $15.

TLR:

Simply unplug the connector under the glove box, jumper the black/white and pink/black wire pins with a small paper clip, put a piece of electric tape over it and leave it unplugged, simple as that.

Takes all of 3 minutes and the light is gone forever, easily reversible if you decide to return to the TPSM at some point in the future.

I was in an hour long traffic jam/commute and mine started blinking too! Did the sensor pic up someone elses low tire pressure? I'm pretty sure all my sensors have dead batteries, being when I last had the tires replaced, costco said I needed them replaced. Declined it.....

Very unlikely. I work and live pretty rural. It would start blinking while on the highway in the middle of nowhere.
