Blizzard White

I really like the Blizzard White color on the new 4Runners, curious what you guys think. I've never had a white vehicle before, does anyone know how well it shows dirt or scratches, with silver being a 0 and black being a 10.

I like the color, but am curious how well it'll hold up.

I've owned silver (a PF), and a light gold (also PF), both excellent colors - dirt-wise.

I've also owned Black and a very dark Gray - both awful for dirt and swirl marks.

I had never owned, or even cared for White, until I saw the BP 4R. "Pearl" fits this paint well, as it has a sort of luminescense to it. It's like the 4R blue, it sorta changes depending on the light. Looks really good at night.

I think it looks good on this big truck, and I've had an unexpected number of compliments on it.

I have found it easy to care for. Obviously it's going to show dirt in really crappy conditions, but for day-to-day dust, dirt, even rain, I have been very pleased with this paint color. I usually wash it at a DIY spray wash, and wipe it down myself, but it has gone through a car wash several times and as yet shows no swirl marks. I'd buy it again.

Only issue: Bugs on the front face probably show up more so than on darker colors.

EDIT: I forgot to grade it. Well, this is totally subjective isn't it? On color appeal, I like it much better than silver. (I liked it before I bought it). On maintenance, it's a 1-2 IMO. I rank it so close because by the time you notice silver is dirty, it'd be the same for BP.

I'm a big fan of the BP. It looks fantastic when clean and pretty good when dirty. As said above, it does pick up bigs like crazy but it cleans up really well. I really love the color at dawn and dusk. If they did a TE 4Runner in white, I'm not sure how BP would look. I do think the chrome trim of the SR5 and Limited looks sharp on BP...
 
I have a blizzard pearl and I'm pretty tolerant of dirt but I need to wash mine at least every two weeks. Dirt shows up around the moldings easily. I had a silver Tacoma that was a lot less prone to showing dirt.

Love the BP. Very easy to keep clean, water spots almost non existent, the shine is incredible in the bright sun, looks real classy at night with the front windows tinted. As others stated day to day dirt on it looks good still. Swirl marks are very well hidden as you almost have to really look for them to see it. IMHO white holds up allot better then black, my 1996 natural white sr5s paint was almost flawless when I traded it in back in 2005.
 
As much as I think the 4R looks best in black, the BP is a close second. Given the headache of washing and visibility of swirl marks on black, BP is a more convenient choice that still looks great without blending in to traffic like silver.

The silver looks like the easiest to take care of and will hide dings and chips better than BP, though. One thing that concerns me about the BP is the black primer or plastic underneath. I took a close look at a demo in BP and the rock chips stood out given the black underneath the paint. Also had many dark/black surface imperfections where shoes hit when entering/exiting the truck, but I'm sure those will easily buff out.

I don't have the time or desire to care for a cars appearance as I did when I was younger. I just want something that will look great but be practical without being forgettable. The BP will likely fit the bill especially since you can get an all-black interior on the LE. It is rare to have a black interior on light colored cars nowadays, a color combo that I am very fond of.

All 3 of my cars are white exterior and all black interior (well, the 4Runner has a good bit of gray leather on the doors and console, and gray dash lowers, and my GTI has plaid insert on the seats). I love the white exterior and black interior. Looks great. My mom's Rav4 is Blizzard Pearl w/ gray leather interior and it just doesn't look as sharp or upscale as an all black interior.
 
I'm loving my BP! Like others mentioned very easy to maintain. I'd rate it a 1 or 2 as well. I've had many silver cars and feel dirt shows up (or should i say is hidden) about the same.

I do have to say I prefer the tan interior over the black, and agree a gray interior with the white wouldn't do anything for me either.
 
I have BP and alot of people like it. I was kinda not liking it but I saw it again and really likes it. When its nice and clean, it shines.
 
My old man has a GX in the Blizzard Pearl and it does get dirty. We don't really mind if there is dirt on it but it really bugs others. You don't really notice how much dirt is on it until you wipe a little area. When you get it detailed or do a good wash, you'll need to wear sunglasses to look at it. When it has road debris on it, it just looks a bit more matte.
 
I would have liked to have seen a non-pearl white available for the TE. White with black trim worked really well for the 2008 FJ Trail Team and I think it would have been kickbutt for the 4RTE as well.

Yeah, that iceberg white is great. The whole stormtrooper look about the FJ TT is pretty wicked.
 
I did not even look at the 2010 4Runner in person because I did not realize that the SR5 came in the Blizzard Pearl. Its a long story - but thought it was an option on the Limited only and I was not financially able to commit to a $45K vehicle. A little less than 2 weeks ago we stopped by the dealer in Denver on a Sunday to look at a Limited and finally realized it was an option on the SR5. It was mine on Monday. I really love the color and got a great deal. The color hides dirt well from about 10 feet +.
I had never really thought about it, but I like Quentin's stormtrooper analogy. Maybe put a tinted visor across the headlights and grill??

I'm thinking about selling my GTI and buying a Prius. It comes in Super White and Blizzard Pearl. I think I almost have to get it in BP so that it matched my T4R and my mom's Rav4. :lmao:
