Blown Head Gasket in San Francisco

[TRD 4RNR]

My 135,000 miles 4Runner has :barf: a head gasket (plumes of white smoke out the tailpipe that smell like antifreeze).

Does anyone nearby have experience and a good recommendation on where I could get the work done at not to hideous a price?

I've never had that kind of work done, so can't recommend a place to do it. I had friend that worked for Pats Garage back in the day. He said they're solid, and my coworker still takes his car there. They are a bit more Honda centric though.

When I had a pathfinder, I had to get all my exhaust manifold bolts drilled out and replaced. G&F Automotive in SSF did a good job on that.

I also see a lot of adverts on CL for motors in the 1300 range. Maybe worth looking into.

How big of a hurry are you in? I might be able to help you out and do it as a side job. I would of course charge less than an average shop, but I may also take a little longer since I do have a full time job.
