Blown Sub - Replacement options

I searched... saw a lot of repalcement subs with added amps. I'd prefer not to add an amp under my passenger seat...

Can I just buy/replace the blown stock sub with something else?

Would this sub work:

Check the link in my sig for my sub/amp install. I listed what specs I could find on the factory system. I believe the max mounting depth is 4". That JBL is 4 3/8" so it won't fit. Powering an aftermarket sub off the factory amp will work, but I don't expect that it will perform very well.

The Polk db is a nice inexpensive sub with a tough surround. I think the 8" is 4" mounting depth.


I've been looking at making a fiberglass enclosure for my stock cubby (no stock sub for me), so that was an option if my existing Infinity Kappa 10's 4.375" depth doesn't work out.

If only I could find a stock sub setup that wasn't reverse-crackhead priced.

Arks write up is perfect. And let me tell you, you would never believe it is an 8" sub.
