Blu Logic?

Has anyone had any experience installing or using the Toyota Blu Logic bluetooth system?

Any input would be appreciated.


I know there are many bluetooth car kits out there as well as head units with bluetooth. However, I was looking for something as stock as possible and this happened to be it. It does what I need it to do.

I'm wondering the same thing. I called the local dealer to ask if this can be hooked up to my steering wheel controls. Does anyone have any experience with this?

There isn't an option for steering wheel controls, however it uses one of the "knock out" plates in the center console just behind the gear selector or to the left of the steering wheel. The controls just clip in there after you take the blank plate out. I have mine in the center console and it's perfect placement IMHO.

It works great. All callers have no problems hearing me. I even had both front windows down and sunroof open and I could still have a conversation without the other person saying anything about not being able to hear me.
 
What's the price range on this and will it work with model years other than 08-09 or is mine a year too old?
 
I found it at Toyota Accessory Warehouse for 174.50. My local dealership told me in the past they will match any price, so we'll see. I was able to get ahold of the install guide, this way we could check it out before spending any money :yesyes:

Not sure about this, but looking at the install guide it looks like they are putting it in an older 4 Runner. I think it depends more on which stereo and speakers you have, but I think it also matters which harness you have too. I can try and upload it, if that would help?
 
Im pretty sure the system will work as long as you have the basic head unit (i.e. NON-JBL and no Nav). I dont think the head units changed form the 07 to 08 models.

Do you know what the issue with a JBL unit is? Is it the harness or just sound compatibility issues?
 
You'd have to check with your dealer on that one. I don't know if the radio and harness are the same in the '04.

I would imagine the harness is different for a JBL head unit. I'm not sure about sound compatibility issues but when using the BluLogic system, it only plays through the front speakers.

If the head unit is the same as 06+, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I think they look the same overall to me. If you've got a friend who's got an 06+, see if the connections are the same on the back of the head unit.

I would still recommend calling the dealer. I know it says it's for '08-'09 so I'm not even sure if there is a difference before '08 on the harness. I'd hate for you to spend the money and not have it work.
 
Well I ordered mine on Saturday. I couldn't pass it up! Got it from a dealer on eBay for $119 shipped! Can't wait for it go get here!!!:biggrin2:
 
We put the microphone just under the gauge cluster. It works and sounds awesome!!! :party: I've attached a picture
