Blue indicator light on windshield

New to this forum. Just curious about the blue indicator light on the windshield of my 2014 4runner SR5. I had toyota put in a alarm in addition to whatever they already had. Is this blue light the indication that the vehicle has an alarm? Used as a deterrent? If so Is it supposed to be flashing at all times other then when the vehicle is in motion? Right now I've noticed the light to be constant as soon as the key is out of the ignition. I've never seen it flash blue only a constant blue light. Is it supposed to flash at all times? I've noticed that after serveral hours the blue light is not on at all.. I'll take all the help I can get!
