Blue NGK Plug wires switch help?

Change my spark plugs today with NGK (BKR5EKB-11) plugs,
But when Changing my wires to the Blue NGK wires i noticed the metal ring end that
snaps on to the coil packs was much shorter then on the old wires.
(see picture)

Anyone else notice this? Doesnt seem like they clip low enough on the coil pack. advanced auto said they're the correct wires..

Well the old ones would slide down on the coil and then clip, and these barely contact when clipped. Im not sure it'll be a good connection.

Are you usin the NGK Wires? or anyone?!

I've had them on for six years and 80K, zero problems. Lots of us on here have used them and recommend them. Are they NGK part No. TE66?

Yeah the part number says: RC-TE66 so I'm sure they're the correct wires.

Yeah Im using the TE66 as well. I'd just try to clip them on and fire it up see what happens. I've been using my Ngk's for about 6 months with no issues.

I was hopeing someone that hasn't installed their new NGK wires would chime in! But yeah thats what I'm gonna try!

When doing the plug wire change, is everyone buying the boots for the coil-on plug also for passenger side? Or is buying the wires good enough?

Metal rings are same length, rubber boot over them on the NGK's is longer. I've installed these wires more times than I care to count, you won't have any issues.

Um. Push the wire forward out of the boot if you want it longer.

As long as it snaps in it should be fine.

I used these wires last month and my truck is running like butter.

Also, deputy, no need to replace coil pack unless it's actually gone bad.

Yes, 4412 is the stocking number (like the 4-digit spark plug stock numbers) and TE66 is the part number, like the long alphanumeric spark plug numbers. Amazon ($29, prime eligible or $32 w/shipping) is cheaper than NAPA ($35), btw.

I'm on my original 183k mile plug wires and just changed the original plugs last week due to a cylinder 4 misfire and it was just the plug and not a coil pack or injector issue. Surprisingly the truck still was running well and getting 16-17mpg with all city driving. I guess I need to quit procrastinating.
New wires coming next week.

I think mine are original wires with 286K. :laugh: I have at least 120K on them so they are over due.
