Blue Sea Accessory Fuse Box and Circuit Breaker Install

So I am getting ready to install several aftermarket LEDs and wanted to put them on a separate fuse box. I decided to go with the blue sea products because they have favorable reviews and are marine grade:
1) Blue Sea Systems ST Blade Fuse Block, 12 circuit, with negative bus
2) Blue Sea Systems 285 Surface Circuit Breaker, 100A

To mount, I searched like crazy, lots of folks have some good ideas, ultimately I talked to crew at tacomapros and decided to gamble that their electrical mounting plate for the tacoma would fit my 2013 4runner trail, it did.
E-MOUNTING PLATE- ATRAC WITH AND KICK OUT - Tacoma Pros

I recommend making a cardboard replica to make sure it will fit (it might be a good idea to email the tacomapros crew and get the dimensions, make the replica, and see if it fits before you buy). After getting the plate, use the replica to mark the holes for the mounting hardware on the flange. Then place the breaker and box on the plate in the orientation of your choosing and drill to score the mounting holes. Remove the breaker and box, stabilize the plate to a work surface with clamps, drill the holes, then paint with paint of choice (in this case Rustoleum high heat, flat black). Then, attach breaker and fuse box with the pictured hardware, selecting nylock nuts to curb vibration associated loosening.

I have everything all set up, I will post a final pic with the battery and lights hooked into the fuse box in the next month. :wink2:

Let me know your thoughts...

Cost me about $8 in parts. Made with Lexan.

Nice! I have seen a couple of setups like that when researching. Great job and certainly more economical than what I did. I elected to move things further back to keep the stock fuse box accessible, but I am sure that makes no difference. Looks clean!

Any more pics of everything all wired up?

I am curious how well this all fit after it was all done...

I actually don't. After getting this installed I was struggling a bit to access the firewall and came across the prewired bussman from shrockworks. I installed that and am very happy with it. If you want pics of that I can send.

It's all good. I got a ton of related/similar information from this thread on TacomaWorld... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-build-and-install-a-bussmann-rtmr-fuse-relay-block.399454/

Ton of excellent information on that one.

Great. If you go that route have fun. Here's a pic of the shrockworks bracket with the prewired bussman RTMR.It was nice to have a fuse box with the relays wired in and a more low-profile mounting bracket. I know shrockworks probably makes the same for the Tacoma. Worth checking out. Here also is a link to my install for the bussman and bracket http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...h-shrockworks-relay-distribution-install.html
