Bluetooth hands-free microphone relocation?

Is it an aftermarket mic? I just bought a stereo that has the additional mic and am wondering where to put it.

I put mine on top of the steering column just behind the steering wheel. Attached it with double stick tape. No complaints from people on the other end of the line.

Are you sure something is not wrong with it? My wife was just telling me yesterday how easy it is to hear me compared to the pathetic excuse for a bluetooth mic in her Rav4.
How did you pull it from behind the sunglass holder. Any pictures?
I'd love to see some pictures? Was it difficult to unattach the mic from the original location?

I ran mine below the steering column then up behind the A-pillar trim to the upper left-hand corner of the windshield. I assume it sounds fine, but people can definitely tell I'm in the car when I'm moving faster than 50 or so.
Is that the stock mic? Why did you go down under the column and then up the A-pillar? Why not just move it across from the stock location to the A-pillar.

No, that's not a stock mic. I put an aftermarket head unit in so I could have Bluetooth and wired this up myself.
Yeah, you're right, but it's there already and I'm not on the phone often enough for it to bother me; it's the people I'm talking to who get bothered.

Mine is aftermarket, sorry, should have been clearer.
I tried some of the same mic placements as others here.
Tried up near the pillar like Yotadriver, I have the rain guards which caused too much wind noise to make that spot work.
Then I tried up on the dash, first infront of the driver and in the center of the dash. neither worked well.
Wanted to run it up by the map lights, but the cord wasn't long enough (didn't feel like fabricating something longer)
Settled on the behind the steering wheel like LTDSC, If I didn't know better I'd think that was a picture of my car. Also the head unit might have some mic settings you can play with the see what works best.
Tried researching the net for mic reviews, thought maybe my mic just sux. Didn't find anything useful.

I used to have mine here, but no one could hear me unless I yelled. I then moved it to where the driver side handle would be and affixed it would double stick tape. Didn't like the look, you could see the wires. So I finally stopped being lazy, dropped the headliner a bit and ran it up next to the sun roof. See pic. BE CAREFUL of the side airbag if you do this, it was a PITA to work around it.
