Bluetooth Phone contacts transfer?

Hello all,

Finally picked up a new Mag Gray SR5, and am glad to have found this forum.

I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to transfer contacts from an iPhone to the stereo's phonebook thru bluetooth? Or am I stuck dialing from the iPhone if I don't want to manually program it?

I think you're stuck. I just use the voice dial feature on the iPhone. Press and hold the home button till the phone vibrates then talk away
 
all my iphone contacts transferred over so i know it's possible, but i can't remember how exactly i did it.
 
I believe it's under the setup button and then press the phone icon and in the sub-menu you should see phonebook. if your iphone is connected it should ask to transfer contact from your phone. I have it setup with my iphone and one extra step which i find to be useful is under the phone button setup speed dials after the contact transfer so you can drive and call by pressing on the screen instead of using that voice feature on the steering wheel.
 
For those of you who transferred the contacts(via iphone) I was under the impression you need the NAV unit to do so?
 
Yeah, I'm thinking it may only be possible on the Nav unit which I don't have. Planning to put in an Avic or Kenwood Nav sometime anyway, so will be able to do it then.
 
I would have been on here weeks ago, but I had an issue with registration and couldn't post. Any who...Like I said before, I'm here to help; this is what these forums are designed to do. :cheers:

This is the step I can't seem to figure out.

STEP2-2 Transfer the data from the cellular phone.
Refer to the manual that comes with the cellular phone for
the details of transferring data.

Granted I haven't really tried to hard :), as I can't find my manual for the iPhone and to lazy to search apples website for the info.
 
I think the iPhone has its limitation(sucks a$$) with this. I wonder if the jailbroken version can...I sure will try when I get mine.

I pick up my Limited tomorrow but when I sat in it today for about ten minutes I was able to sync my contacts with my iPhone. It was really simple, so simple I forget what happened. I'll check again tomorrow when I actually have it.

my iPhone contacts sync fine. it's just stupid that the Nav unit doesn't recognize the caller ID(s) of the synced contacts when you're underway.

i'm happy enough with the Nav overall, but for $2600 (MSRP) the "nanny" stuff is frustrating.

Don't blame the Navigation. It's your Iphone. My wife and I both switched from the Iphone to the Droid's and they work perfect with my navigation and also with her microsoft sync. Pandora works great too.:reddance:
 
Has anyone had luck transfering contacts via bluetooth with the Blackberry curve 8900? I get a push server error. I read the car manual and the blackberry manual but can't get it to work properly. I was able twice to tranfer the first contact in my phonebook but nothing else.
