Body crack above fuel door

So I noticed this crack the other day when I was washing my car. It is pretty bad and am very concerned about it. I have not brought it to the body shop yet but plan too in the next couple of days. The crack was caused from my subwoofers flexing the side of my 4Runner so much. What do you guys think I should do? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Actual structural damage, if you look inside by the jack/tools in drivers side rear and shine a light through the crack on the outside you can see it in the inside. Not really worried about rain water but defiantly want to do something to fix it just don't really know my options at the moment

Seems like an odd place to split. Never seen anything like it. My first move would be to get any bare metal covered in order to prevent possible rust.

I'm gonna use touch up paint tomorrow to cover it up. I can get to it from the inside, should I silicone the back of it

I think that you might want to turn down the stereo if you're doing body damage.

Yeah right after I noticed it I took the subs out but now I'm wondering what my options are on fixing this..

i had this problem for a long time than you did, the only fix is they will have to body filler and you have to sound deaden the inner layer. otherwise leave it alone. [MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION] saw mines before.

What did they charge for the body filler? I don't plan on putting the subs back in. They have done more damage than good. (Alternator, mirror, cracked the body, cracked my rear license plate) you got any pictures of the inside of yours?

Alternator? What? You mean your amp was wired up bad and shot your voltage regulator on it?

Otherwise...just wow. Never was the type to add subs, so other than stock systems I don't mess with audio. I am just at awe if the damage this did and it makes me worried for your ear drums.

Keep that hearing till your 80..haha. as for the rest...good luck.

No when I bought the car at 100,000 the alternator wined and only got worse. Nothing was hooked up wrong. My amp just put a little more strain on the alternator. And I was hitting over 150 decibels..

Just a FYI for those of you that are causing your own, and passenger, hearing loss. Short term exposure of 150DB causes permanent damage, sustained exposure to 95dB can result in hearing loss.

The loudest recommended exposure with hearing protection is 140dB. Sustained exposure to 95dB can result in hearing loss.

I think you should put the subs back in and see how big you can get the crack to be.

Short term fix to help with water getting in would be to silicone the crack from the inside. Long term fix is going to have to be done by a pro and itll have to be welded. If the pro just uses bondo to fix the crack itll come back in due time from regular driving. A pro might be able to get away with using fiberglass but thats a 50 50 chance. Thats definitely I weird place for a quarter panel to crack.

Come on. You rolled on here and basically told us you blast a sub SO LOUD you basically cracked your exterior shell.

You had to know your going to get comments. It is the digital version of you rolling right up beside us, that loud, and then you get mad when people stare or comment.

We are just spitballing here, but dang...
