body damage repair

So junior had his first accident. No one involved other than him and a guard rail and he wasn't hurt so thats all good. The insurance company was going to total the truck but I decided to keep it and install new custom bumpers. I got the plans from Bandit and those are great, highly recommended.

The damage to the left rear corner is beyond what I am familiar with which is a little bondo and sanding and touch up.

Can you guys give me some pointers on how to make this a better? Or point me to some resources?

Wouldn't this question work much better for you if you asked several different professional body shops in your area?

If you are only looking for 'good enough' not perfection you might be able to address it from the inside. If you pull the interior panel off I think things are pretty open in that area. With the use of some creatively shaped wooden drifts and a hammer you might be able to pop it out somewhat. Touch up the paint to prevent rust and oil spray the inside.

Just depends on how good you want it to be.

Not bad idea to have professional shops look at this one. Those corners are hard to get back into shape.

From the inside under the side panels you can get to the side fairly well. The area below the tail light isnt accessible.

As bad as that area is bent. This is going to need one of those guns that spot welds lugs to the body panels that you can hook to and pull out.

Or one those tools that screws into the panel and has a slide hammer on it.

I would go with the lug gun ( not the proper name for it)

Might be best to get some $$ on having a shop fix that section for you.
