Body lift - look at this picture

I'm probably going to do a 1" body lift so that I can mount my sliders up on the frame as high as possible without grinding away the pinch weld for clearance.
I'm capable of sourcing/fabricating everything I need to do so, but looking at the mount under the B-pillar I see this - why is there a huge gap between the rubber and the underside of the mount? Both sides are like this, so I'm guessing this is normal?

i put a 1 inch BL on mine and mine look like that and the only thing i could figure about that gap is that the body bushing needed to be replaced, its a good idea to replace them while you have it all taken apart for the body lift.

x4. same gap on my stock 98. It would be nice if someone could explain this. I wonder if it has something to do with the jitters that shoot through my entire 4runner when i hit a bump

Hmm. Maybe it's an engineered weak point in the event of impact - The floor will deform upward across the distance between the A and C pillar.

Supplies are ordered for BL.

it is supposed to be like that. something to do with if you have a accident, it prevents the body from ripping off the frame...don't quote me on it though

i wonder where and if they make poly body bushings for the 4th gen. i'd like to get my hands on a set real soon.

I also belive it is for the event of an accident, and on a side note the 96's didnt even have b pillar body mounts.
