Body lifts - 3"?

Hey all
I am looking for information on body lifts. I have a 2007 4runner with a 3" suspension lift already. I have seen 1" and 1.5" body lifts but nothing more. I am hoping to add a 3" body lift. Any helpful info is appreciated. Thanks!

P_nlsn has a 3" BL- he can probably help you out!!! I only have a 1.5

Not gonna lie, it's kinda cool to have my name dropped like that :wink2:

Absolutely! I'd love to help out in any way I can, what kind of info would you like?

I really appreciate that! Looks like your post has all the information I was looking for and was very helpful. I was wondering though, how did you fix the rear bumper gap (maybe I missed it).

Oh, ok, awesome! I'm glad it helped! Just be sure and keep a close eye on everything - jack it up a little, walk around and check everything, and then repeat until done

I actually didn't fix it - my bumper currently shows the frame, just like in that picture in my post. I just unbolted the bottom of the rear bumper to let it flex and rise with the body as needed. And to be honest, as far as I know, there's nothing you can do to change that without doing some custom fab work

One thing I don't mention in my post, is that at 3", the gas tank filler neck will also get pulled tight, but it should be fine - I haven't adjusted it and I haven't had any problems yet, but I just wanna put that info out there just in case

Ok, cool thanks! I think over the next few weeks, I'll do what I can before I lift it.I think I'll do the same for the front bumper, I have a 3d printer and can design that bracket. At work, we have a CNC plasma cutter I can probably use.

You're welcome! Oh, ok, cool! The bracket is super easy, just copy the factory mounting point, then duplicate it 3" higher - bam, you gotta stock bumper with a 3" BL

I mention this in my build thread, and it's pretty basic knowledge, but I just wanna say it again as a disclaimer - A bracket like that on the front bumper significantly decreases its integrity

Yeah this should go fairly smoothly. Just curious, does your steering wheel shake at all? After my 3/2 lift, the wheel shakes at about 45-52MPH about half the time.

I don't think so. I sometimes think I notice a very slight wobble, but that's more at highway speeds like 75+. And I can never tell if it's just the road or tires

I would typically consider maybe something like a bad alignment or tire balance, but since it's not all the time, I wouldn't think those would be a likely culprit in your case - I've heard of people getting a wobble after lifting though, so I guess it could just be that
