Alright let's get this group ride going!

I'm going to call tomorrow to see if there is a group/multiple day/camping/entry rate, but as of now the entry fee is $10 per person, and $25 per vehicle. I believe tent camping is $10 a night, but will verify tomorrow.

As of now, I plan on riding up there Friday afternoon/evening after work.
Park opens at 8 on Saturday.

Tag anyone who might be interested.

Count me in! I'll most likely ride up there after work on Friday as well. I guess we should start a list of items to bring for camping. Do we have to bring our own fire wood? Is beer allowed there? I can bring brats and buns for everyone one night.
 
I called today, and primitive camping is $10 a night, they have a weekend pass that is $10 per day and you only pay for your vehicle for the first day $25.

They have air on site to air tires back up. They do allow cans, but I believe it's a no glass allowed park. As far as firewood goes, I have plenty of it here at the house to bring.

I have plenty of wild pork smoke sausage, smoked deer sausage I can bring for whatever size crowd shows up. I'll also have the dutch oven rocking some coblers for after dinner.

We also need a list of recovery gear. I have:
Winch
Tree saver starp
30' Recovery strap
30' tow strap
Snatch block/shackles and rigging
Hi lift jack

I didn't even notice your truck was 2wd. I would think it would be a challenge in 2wd mostly because of the loose sand/inclines and some of the wash outs. Ive never been up there in a truck, so i dont know how it will handle 100%. Like I said above, its mostly unmaintained forest trails with ruts, roots, sand, and mud. All I can say is to give it a try lol. If it doesn't work out, you can be the designated spotter/photographer lol!
 
I'm always up for a challenge, a buddy of mine us going to take his 4x4 jeep so if anything I can ride with him. But I'm still going
 
Count me in. Sorry for the slow response... I've been on vacation up in Maine (in the wonderful land where cell service doesn't yet exist) and am just now trying to get my normal life back in order.

Also: a big thanks for calling in about camping. In my preparation for all things vacation, I completely forgot to call them.

Recovery gear:
Snatch strap, bridle/tree saver, shackles, hitch shackle holder, hi lift and assorted attachments so the thing is useful even if others don't have good jack points.

Food:
Let me know what we end up needing. I'll definitely bring a cooler of ice-cold beers for the end of the day though!
 
Hey, I'm not going to make it up there until 2 on Saturday, I have to work that morning. But I still coming up fir Saturday night!

Alright, I'm still planning on rolling that way Friday afternoon and setting up camp. Wife and kids backed out due to other obligations, so, solo I go.

I'll likely be up there later on Fri night. Unfortunately, I'll probably be working until about 5 in Baker and will have to run home and take care of a few things before I head up.

I'm planning on staying all day saturday and either camping again or driving home after the day depending on what y'all are up to. Sunday= my car desperately needs a cleaning already... I hope it's not any cleaner by then.

I plan on staying through Sunday till afternoon sometime. No sure what time I'm riding up Friday. I told the boss I could only work a half day.

That will be fun to watch if its the hill at the entrance. I asked when I called and they said they had no events planned that weekend. It's nice that there will be other vehicles out there. Maybe we can follow along with some that know the park well. I can't wait.
 
Had a full weekend of trails and off-road fun with [MENTION=104973]BusinessHippieRH[/MENTION] and [MENTION=114090]max04runner[/MENTION]. Little limestone crawling, a little mud, and a whole lot of trails. I'll post some pictures tonight, although they don't do the angles justice. Had very minor damage, busted radiator Saturday morning, luckily the gift shop had jb weld and I was able to finish the weekend. Hopefully we can get a better showing next go round. There was a group of about 10 jeeps out there, but they refused to go where we went, and wanted no part of playing on the rocks.
