Bolt-On Sliders- Need Some Help

So I'm back from my trip to Tahoe, no snow... so sad... :crybaby:

Anyways, I noticed that ever since I installed my CBI Sliders that the truck has been creaking more and vibrating a little rougher than usual. I tracked it down to some of the brackets touching the body of the vehicle. I emailed CBI about a possible solution... basically the only thing I can think of is to either do a half inch body lift (I don't have the money or time for that now...) or to take a prybar and flatten out the dimples on the body that are contacting the Slider brackets.

It sounds like you have two good solutions already. If you are hesitant to take a pry bar to the truck I understand that. What about shoving some heavy rubber into the areas where the sliders are touching the body? It would isolate and damp that vibration area? It might be worth a shot prior to taking the pry bar to anything.
 
When I installed mine, i just took a grinder and took off a little of the steel where the pinch welds are, gave myself a 1/8" between the slider and body to allow for any flex.

A body lift is a defiantly a option though.
 
How about putting a washer on the top bolts between the plate and frame? Would that work? It might give you a 1/8" space.
I don't have sliders yet they are in the mail
 
Paul, the simplest solution will be a basic 1/2" body lift. At 1/2" you still use stock bolts and don't have to relocate the radiator or extend the steering shaft. You can cut the pucks out of a 1/2" sheet of HDPE. I might even have some spare material around.

Honestly, I don't know if it really makes that much of a difference... the frame is as thick if not thinner than the plates used to mount around them on the bolt-ons. Assuming the hardware is top grade, the bolt ons should not fail any faster or easier than weld-on, though there is the possibility they may get shifted some.

I decided on bolt-on sliders for right now because I plan on settling on a different design later down the road. Its much easier to unbolt these and weld on my future ones than to cut and grind all that down.
 
I got 4x innovations sliders coming and I think they can weld on or bolt I think so welding is the best?
 
So who sells a 1/2" Body Lift Kit? I can't seem to find one...

Does any one happen to have the measurements of the spacers?

I have a friend who can make me some on a CNC machine, just wondering what over all diameter and hole diameter they have, as well as how many are needed?
