What size bolts are the pan hard bar bolts??


9/16"...???

this question makes me wonder if you have ever turned a wrench on your truck, and if you have how many bolts you have stripped trying to use sae sockets on the bolts.

its a 17mm bolt (just under 11/16" in Standard size) but let me re-phrase my question, i am trying to figure out the thread diameter...

my choices for a rod end heim are:

9/16" BORE
5/8" BORE
3/4" BORE

what would be the best choice for the pan hard bar bolt to fit through?

would you recommend a 5/8" bore for the bolt to fit through [MENTION=100116]D Farms[/MENTION] my kind 4runner friend?

ah that makes more sense, also just messing with you. its an m12x1.0mm, you are going to need some misalignment spacers, so get whatever size heim you want, then get some misalignment spacers and drill the bore out to 12mm and make the length the same as the stock panhard bar. then reuse the stock bolt or get a new one or whatever.

94622‑31200 - Washer
90170‑12039 - Nut

Get them from a dealer. Don't use a home depot bolt on this. They'll cost about $5 total, but you won't have to replace these ever (at least you shouldn't), and you know you have the proper bolt for a very important application.

BTW, use loc-tite on the nut when you install it. You don't want this falling apart again. Removable should be good enough I think.






Oh, and you are correct. That's an upper control arm. Very important.

Rear Spring & Shock Absorber - 2001 Toyota 4Runner

Model number needed is on sticker on driver side pillar.
$116. Mounting hardware part numbers from earlier post much appreciated-

94622‑31200 - Washer - $1.48ea
90170‑12039 - Nut - $1.20ea

Your link doesn't specify which upper control arm you are going to get so just wanted to make sure you get 48710-35040 since your signature says you are 4wd.

Everybody who who is replacing bolts, remember to torque the nut and bolts to spec. 64ft lbs is what it’s saying on my FSM.
