Bolt together bumpers/roof racks?

im looking for a company that sells bolt together bumpers and roof racks.
All the usual bumpers/racks are no able to be shipped APO via usps.
Thanks for the help!!!!

What do you mean by bolt together? Like small pieces compared to a solid 200lb Shrockworks, Demello etc.. and Gobi, Whitson etc.. racks that come already welded together? Does everything you guys in the Armed Forces buy have to go through the USPS system?
 
Yes, everything we buy has to fit within the USPS dimensions/weight restrictions.
If we go any other route (I.e. Freight) we would have to pay a enormous shipping cost and import tax.
Those costs can double the price of an item.

Only the ones who are stationed overseas. That's what APO stands for.
[MENTION=120597]DCook0[/MENTION], have you thought about going to a local welder with some pictures to see what they could do? Or are you in the big sand?
 
Obviously it's for security reasons on both ends but you would think that for what you guys and girls do for our country they would attempt to make things a little easier on you when it comes to simple pleasures in life.
 
Frontrunner has a bolt together roof rack as well as K9. Hope this helps and a BIG Thanks for your service!

I could go through a welder. But the material cost and labor would be in GBP vs USD.
That in itself is a turn off.

If anyone stateside has welding skill and is willing to design a bolt together front bumper. (and maybe rear bumper with swing out tire carrier)
I'll be willing to fork out the $
Plus the guys/gals who are stationed overseas may take an interest.
New market possibly?
 
Nobody sells a rack under 130" and 70 lbs??

Drabbit's rack is 135" and under 70 lbs...so close...

ETA: You might be able to get him to custom make you one that is a few inches shorter and it should qualify for USPS.

ETA: Any 3/4 length rack should qualify for USPS
 
Just a Idea...

Buy a rack.
Have it shipped to a Friends/family members house here in the states.
Get them to cut it in half.
Ship it to you.
Have a local welding shop weld it up putting a sleeve on the outside or a insert in the inside to gain the strength back.
Bolt rack on.

that or contact the maker and ask for them to make it in two pieces. Im sure they will understand if you explain your situation.

same could be done with the bumpers.

How about ROLA racks? I know they're not top of the line but aren't they in 2 pieces and theres even an extension available plus new brackets made by one of our sponsors that allow it to sit closer to the roof?
 
I just emailed Budbuilt back to see if they could get something worked out with APObox (package consolidation/shipping company). I want a set of their sliders.
If that falls through I can try Slee. they are bolt together, but expensive.

Also emailed baja rack to see if they will ship their 3/4 rack (standard) to an APO address.

I saw a white 5th gen on this site with a very slim front bumper. It looked like a company vehicle. I think it was called "rorok" or something.
I know it began with an "R".
If I could talk to who ever made his bumper and see if they would be cool with making a bolt together...... Hmmmm

Probably [MENTION=109477]Rorck[/MENTION] - I think he has the 4x4 Labs front bumper.

I know some of the prior gen vendors do sell the kits that you can weld (maybe bolt too?) together locally upon arrival to cut down on freight costs (and potentially allow for easier modifications as needed). Good luck finding one.

It might be mine. 4x4 labs does sell a weld kit and I believe he even has them in stock but I could be wrong.

Has anyone heard of any companies who sell bolt together yet?
If not it may look like I'll have to wait till I get back to the states.
