Bolt?

I just to ished changing the belts, hoses, tstat, water pump, timing belt and all the idlers along with tensioner and I ended up with an extra bolt I have no idea where it goes! It's a long bolt so I was thinking the fan bracket but there's only one long bolt and two studs on that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like a bolt out of the starter[emoji23] can't be that though

Only long bolt like that that I can remember would be for the power steering bracket.


Next guess would be thermostat housing, but I don't remember if those are studs or bolts...

Didn't touch the starter so that's out.
Didn't do anything with the intake so that's not it either.
The thermostat housing has 3studs not bolts.
The lower steering bracket is held on with a stud and nut not a big bolt but good guess.

Any more? Sure does look important.

How is the tension on all of your drive belts?

If good, then fan bracket bolt.....

Since you did the WP and stuff...
Could it be this upper WP bolt??

Assuming it's not the fan bracket bolt since you accounted for that in your original post, it has to be one of the bracket bolts for one of the accessories, ie the PS pump, alternator, or AC compressor. There's really nothing else it could be.

It looks like the bolt is 14 mm and this is for Power steering.

It's the same as the bolt through the top of the fan bracket. (I had two the same). I tensioned everything and everything seems ok. I will double check the power steering though.
I do have a stupid vacuum leak somewhere I need to find though.

Point of interest: When I run reverse search on that fan bracket bolt p/n, that is the ONLY use of that exact bolt on the whole truck. So if you had two exactly the same, one may have come from somewhere else.

By looking at the corrosion on the bolt, it looks like it was installed on something that was shallow, as the back of the bolt stuck out and was exposed to moisture. That rules out the intake, throttle body, etc. Hopefully that helps your investigation.
