bonus time at work, help me spend my money: poll

ok here's what i'm looking at i already ordered a sweet rack from whitson and am eyeballing a few things right now as well.....

here's what i'm considering and why

tundra 13wl 231mm brake upgrade
my brakes work.... oookkkaaayyy....but leave something to be desired but am unsure how much i'll appreciate this over some of the other things i'm looking at
cost around $400~450 (i'm trying to keep my cores)

addco sway bars with disconnects
cost around $500~550
i hate body roll with a passion, i've always wanted sway bars just due to how much time and how long my drives on paved roads are, and then i have the disconnects for when i hit the trail, i've read somewhere in the neighborhood of a 200% stiffness increase which would dramatically reduce body roll and also wonder that out of all of the things we do to try and get out steering/handling back to normal if this would be one of the best for the money..i wonder...plus it comes with new poly bushings all the way around and i'm going to do that anyway regardless of anything else i'm talking about here.

upper a-arms for the obvious reasons of alignment and better clearance...cost around $600~800

CBI rear plate bumper, because it looks cool and i wanna f' up whoever tries to plow in the back of me like fightman, i am worried about how a black rear bumper would look on my rig ..i might want to get it color matched...

and last but not least bamf sliders that are on sale till tomorrow
with kick out and i'll make my own filler plates at work cost ~$400 and will leave me money for a few other things like getting my cables made up for the dual battery system and ham radio i'm putting in asap. also torn between bolt on and weld on, i know the draw backs of each and would prefer to be able to pull them off if another tree crushes my truck, but are these designed properly to be effective via bolt on? cannot find decent pics of this option.

I didn't see a vote for "ALL OF THE ABOVE" :dammit: so I voted for the Tundra Brake Mod. Tough choice between the brakes and the UCA's which I viewed as both viable safety upgrades in addition to the functionality they offer.

All of them are legit upgrades IMO and I really looked at benefit from a weight perspective. If you add bumpers, sliders, possible skids...etc the upgraded brakes will be a lot more enjoyable and necessary. Same goes for the upgraded sway bars. I too hate the body roll and want those as well but they've slipped down the list for now.

Damn that's a tough list as each are very useful. I'd say sliders since they are on sale and shouldn't be more than $400 shipped (unless you get powdercoating). But the control arms might be worth it since you will have coilovers and will allow the extra travel.

Also I'm jealous you get to use your bonus. Mine goes into savings and brakes for my Fiance's Jeep.

yeah all of them are on the build plan, lol, and i get another chunk of change around Christmas time and will definitely be doing some more around then, but as you know man life and women also require $$$$ so i only got what i got right now, haha, i also had an offer from the bro in law for new gears installed for 1k , but am thinking im going to put that off til Christmas time.
i guess like you and everyone else it's a matter of doing what when , haha, i'm really trying in my mind to fight for the addco's because like i've wanted them for ages but they keep sliding down the list....but dammit there's sooo much other cooler stuff that might be more beneficial, like the a-arms , those will save my $$$ tires should make it handle and track better as well as better clearance and no more rub and if i wanted to go back to my stocker rims i wouldn't have to worry about spacers anymore....(right?)

i'm probably going to just buy whatever you guys tell me to as it's less stressful then getting to deep into the thought of it all...haha

haha i'm spending 95% of it to marry my wife for the second time..nothing dodgy we just ran off and got eloped because we didn't want to be engaged for 2 years ...so essentially i'm paying/paid for 2 weddings now....ggggeeezzzzussss.... and i'm sure she'll get a good chunk of the christmas one as well for the house or whatever.....dude im getting depressed... lets keep talking about the stuff i get !! haha

I agree the addco are cool, but not absolutely necessary. Brakes are brakes and can be replaced when they need to be. Plus it's easier to tell your wife that you need brakes (leave out the Tundra part) rather than explaining how you need sliders or a CBI. I plan on telling my Fiance I need brakes and go for the good stuff.

If your brakes are fine and you are still relatively stock, you dont need tundra brakes quite yet.

Are you looking at the Icon control arms? Because those are one of the most expensive ones out there.

A rear bumper will only increase body roll that you hate so much already.

I voted sway bar. And I would add on to that some new bushings for the control arms and new steering rack bushings. Both of those are available through toytec.

Buy a used factory sway bar ($20-$100), repaint it, buy bushings and Toyota bracket mounts ($40), then add custom front adjustable end links from Stick-Figure ($125).

I just installed all of the above and my ride improved massively. The factory rear sway bar is fine. Leave it alone .

hahaha the bus is basically built and i already have a new pop-top canvas, inside table, dual battery relay, and a bunch of other things just hanging out waiting to go on, that's what i was actually planning on spending my summer on till the tree happened, now it's the summer of the 4runner instead of the bus....

you lost me there bud, i already have a sway bar up front but the stock one is weak imo, is there something else we can rob the sway bar from and have it be a slight upgrade? i know we share the same diam sway bar as a mustang..... but i don;t know if they are interchangeable, i know the ES bushings are the same for either though....
